Said it in the summer but i would take him me.
Decent player who could lead the line on his own and wouldnt be bad alongside Torres.

Ben mate Carlton Cole is pony, ask any west ham fan. He's a complete oaf with the touch of a rapist and dont get me started on his finishing ability. He had a little purple patch last year but that has long since dried up and he's back to square one.

Think he was only loan at West Ham last season, so i assume he's back in Italy, i thought he was pretty decent for them last season, one of there better players.

I don't want to see us spend too much in January. It's generally a bad time to buy and unless there is a remarkable turnaround Hodgson will be gone at the end of the season so we shouldn't be given him any sort of “war chest”. I'd like to find a buyer for Babel and bring in a striker but unless we find a special deal I'd rather we wait until the summer window to do anything else.

brescia got man of match last month againt juventus scored a screamer after juve had took the lead 2 mins earlier and got italy call-up last month for friendly. How can people on here laugh at diamanti when they stick up for babbel saying hes playing out of position. They are delluded.

Whoever we buy we must ensure they are consistent footballers, lads who we can rely on ever week to put a shift in and graft for the club and dont spend half their time on the treatment table either. We cant afford passengers anymore who turn it on when they feel like it and we have far too many of those on the books at the moment. Article in Telegraph with Comolli today as well if anyone hasnt seen it:-

According to Comolli this January window won't be a bad time to buy because of the recession as he thinks certain clubs have to sell.

I think Hodgson will be signing players in Jan and this makes me wonder what NESV actually have planned for him long term.

i think the whole purpose of comolli is that no one manager will be solely incharge of players purchases.
eg) Roy will identify certain areas he wants to improve ie a striker and a left back.
and comolli will go and get those guys, of coz he will "consult" Roy on his aquisitions.

but problems arise when Comolli will keep watch over Roy but who will keep watch over Comolli?
" the watchmen will watch over the city but who will watch over the watchmen? "

got a mate who supports ipswich and he raves about this kid. says he can't understand why he doesn't start every week.

£10m for a 17 year old is a bit steep though. he's a big lad for his age and the potential is there but it'd be a risk.

i remember people saying the same thing for walcot and bale. Sometimes, just sometimes, £10m is cheap for a 17 year old..... there's always a risk, but if we dont, i reckon we'll be kicking ourselves 3/4 years down the line.
