BOLTON WANDERERS VS LIVERPOOL - 31 october 2010, ko: 16:00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Torres and Gerrard looking well off the pace lets hope they can come out in the second half with a bit more belief.
Raul is looking better with  every game and there was a few moments where Koncheskey and Cole seemed to be getting an understanding!
Maxi looks a little lost again, we really need some pace on that side, i think that would be the one area we could really get at them possibly bring shelvey or Jovanvic on there.
pacheco would be the guy i would really want but he's not getting a sniff at the moment

Time yet but pretty poor first half all round. Bolton trying to win cheap free kicks and con the ref with our lads strolling about playing short passes and generally looking like they would sooner be elsewhere. Wheres the drive and passion, a smile even, its very frustrating. Ah well maybe they will surprise us second half but you can see this ref giving Bolton something from nothing if we are not careful.

Same problem as previous season.. static players waiting for the ball to be delivered to their feet.
We need to start having players running along side an attacking player as support instead of passing the ball back like rugby every time there is resistance. In fact today, the players are guilty of passing the ball backwards (towards own goal) without bothering to check if he is surrounded by opponent's players. Joe Cole and Maxi have been guilty of this. Keep the freaking ball. What are they afraid of? Tackles? Might as well quit football if they can't handle tackles.

Stop heading the ball aimlessly. Head the ball towards your team mates even when you are trying to clear the ball in the middle of the field. Even the kids in Arsenal can do this with great dexterity. WTF is wrong with the team???!!!

the thing with torres and gerrard is that they seem to have lost that amazing, almost telepathic, understanding they had for a while. each of them is trying, in my view, but its congested and things are running for them. a bit more urgency wouldn't go amiss though. as far as maxi is concerned i think he's playing some lovely balls in for torres to run on to, there's been 3 or 4 in this half already and his contributions to the general build up play are the best from anybody today.

for me no changes in personnel just a change in tempo.

I know what you mean about Maxi but there seems to be times where he is well behind the pace of the game. (maybe i should not single him out looking at the entire team)
I really think we need an injection of pace and he will never provide that, i think that pace will back the defence up and provide the space for gerrard and torres.
That doesnt explain some of the poor first touches and misplaced passes by those 2 though!

I would give it 10 more minutes and if nothing changes replace Torres with Ngog. The lad's head is just not here.

Now of course he'll score a hat trick  :p

for frig's sake - if we don't play like barcelona every game these days people go off on one. its getting ridiculous.

we're playing bolton at their place after a run of bad form. we're playing ok in a bit of a scrappy game but its not running for us. just because we aren't producing flashes of brilliance it doesn't mean we're having a shocker. we're doing ok but we do need to step it up a bit for the 2nd half. this game is winnable.

Gerrards mind is on something else, have u not been watching the same Gerrard i have over ten years?

I know its common to pick on the usual scapegoats in this forum, but maxi has actually been better than most of the other players in our midfield.

Give it a rest already rocky. If you have nothing to say about anything other than aquilani zip it.
