Carra delivered more successful crosses against Blackburn than Glen Johnson did in first 5 league games
at getting the ball back. mart wrote:I have a feeling we will appreciate Johnson much more once the team starts playing better(when roy is sacked).
Well leaving aside the end bit (was it really necessary
) I do agree that Johnson is a player who will always look a much better right back in a good team which is playing well. He doesn't defend particularly well and yet he is extremely destructive in attack, so therefore it's not hard to see why he'd be better playing for Chelsea than he would for West Brom.

He can be a very good player

This in a nutshell.
Been arguing Johnson's case due to him not being suited to a system that invites pressure and sits deep. Not the player's fault.

shouldn't an 18m defender be able to defend?

Poxy waste of money he is....I'd happily send a young fella from a YTS scheme in in his place - he'd guaranteed do a better job...

that isn't an argument.
The question was "shouldn't an 18m pound DEFENDER be able to defend?"
