Carra delivered more successful crosses against Blackburn than Glen Johnson did in first 5 league games

Thats not because carra is a great rightback. Its much easier to get a cross in when the team you play in actually tries to attack.

Johnson is a player that needs a good team to cover up his defensive weakness. He is not a good player for a team that sits back and lets the opposition dominate possession. Good teams can have an attacking wingback like johnson as they keep possession, and have CB's and midfielders capable of covering for them. We have slow average CB's and our world class defensive mid have been replaced by a piece of wood with a blonde wig (poulsen). When we loose possession we are :censored: at getting the ball back.

Hopefully if we continue to actually try to attack he can get back some of his confidence. And with Kuyt back in the team at least he gets some help defensively. I have a feeling we will appreciate Johnson much more once the team starts playing better(when roy is sacked).

:) Well leaving aside the end bit (was it really necessary  ???) I do agree that Johnson is a player who will always look a much better right back in a good team which is playing well. He doesn't defend particularly well and yet he is extremely destructive in attack, so therefore it's not hard to see why he'd be better playing for Chelsea than he would for West Brom.

To be fair to me, I called this as it is when we bought him. Check back, I said he was shiit (probably the reason he robbed the toilet seat :D )

18m quid down the shitter.

He should cut his fukken hair too, every time I see him he is flicking it around his face.

He doesn't even know what side of a striker to stand on, a 10 year old defender should know that.

Now and then I take a real dislike to a player (Harry Kewell for e.g) and he is defo one for me. There was a reason Chelsea fans knew him as badjohnson when they had guudjohnson with them.

18m quid - the mind boggles at that.

He can be a very good player

This in a nutshell.

Been arguing Johnson's case due to him not being suited to a system that invites pressure and sits deep. Not the player's fault.

shouldn't an 18m defender be able to defend?

Poxy waste of money he is....I'd happily send a young fella from a YTS scheme in in his place - he'd guaranteed do a better job...

He looks a completely different player in this new system. Im afraid if this system is going to be the norm then it's only a matter of time before he asks to leave.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

that isn't an argument.

The question was "shouldn't an 18m pound DEFENDER be able to defend?"

I would imagine the "hope" with GJ was, that he would have the pace to add a lot to the attack AS WELL AS cover his defensive duties. Unfortunately he can't defend for shyte, not for LFC, not for England....so what the fook does the manager see in him ?
