bbc:

Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have removed the restraining order preventing the club's sale to New England Sports Ventures.

However, the move is not designed to help NESV seal their £300m deal, but to aid Hicks in his attempts to sell his stake to US hedge fund Mill Financial.

The club is hoping to tie up a deal with NESV on Friday, but Hicks believes he can still scupper their plans.

Mill could then pay off the £237m debt owed to Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

NESV's deal was being held up by the restraining order, which was issued by a court in Texas. The court was set to resume its hearing at 1300 BST on Friday, but that now appears unlikely.

BBC Sport understands the overnight adjournment in proceedings in the US was to enable Hicks to have more time in his attempt to strike a deal with Mill Financial.

BBC Sports editor David Bond said: "The restraining order prevents any other buyer - such as Mill - from paying off the £237m loan to Royal Bank of Scotland, due on Friday, because it binds RBS as well as the board of Liverpool and its parent companies based in the UK. "

So nervous!

Ben Smith Times -

The removal of this TRO almost certainly confirms Hicks has agreed a deal with Mill for his #lfc shares ... High Court 2pm anyone?

no they are very much in the race, its down to RBS to whos money they take now.....also Mill are linked to Hicks and when they put the club up for sale is was said it had to be to a new 3rd party, Mill are not that in my eyes.

They shouldnt be in the race at all , our judge Floyd .RBS bRIEF, and Grabbo said yesterday that them two had no say on who owned or could buy the club. rBS have already accepted NESV, there brief in court yesterday said himself i heard him, we own Liverpool football club,

I'll tell ya summat, it shows what NESV think of our club, the way they are fighting along side us to get shut of these 2 plebs. Lets face it, most people would have said 'thanks but it's too complicated' by now. but NESV are right there with us all the way. Im liking them already

How can they just remove the court order - don't the courts have to remove it and not the owners . This could easily just be more rumours .

No, plaintiffs can remove it as its them who made the order. The court only gets into the picture when the plaintiffs refuse to remove the order.

I don't think Hicks can sell to Mill? Mill has to go for a background check with the premier league in order to approve the sale, so don't worry guys

Also interestingly

Ben Smith The Times -

"Premier League indicated to me yesterday that only NESV and Peter Lim had passed the fit and proper person test "

Could work in our favour.

Im sure the Liverpool board and RBS were/are prepared for this.
Is henry from NESV still in England?

I hate that Hicks has something up his sleeve but i doubt its valid!

hicks will know every trick in the book, he's been doing this for years. so if he knows any loophole in the law he will use it to his advantage, including making things happen out of hours. he knows that he's pretty much screwed now and the only thing he can do is try to out maneuver  us by planning surprises.

his chief weapon is surprise..... and cheating

his two chief weapons are surprise and cheating

surprise, cheating and deceit

etc etc etc....
