Hang on a sec mate...He's a Chav fan; he was a contractor brought in to seel the club; and there's a small matter of 500K for completing the deal...
So let's not get carried away. HE has no loyalty to the club. He did a job, he's finished with (or so it seems). And it looks like he did a good job.
So I'll settle for a Thanks, and I'll buy him a pint if I ever see him. Time for some local and/or dedicated fans to step up.

When Broughton was first appointed I was very sceptical but he has played a big part in ridding us of these 2 snakes. Thanks!

Broughton couldn't say NESV incase G&H try and claim they don't want to listen to any other offers.

Refusing leave to appeal by the trial judge is where he feels that an appeal would be a waste of the court system's time and pointless.

What if they DO appeal ? Can the club be sold to NESV tonight/tomorrow if there's a possibility that G&H are going to appeal ? And even if they do sell the club to them, can a successful appeal overturn the sale ?

So... what happens if Hicks does appeal?  Can the sale go ahead?

My understanding is that the only court of appeal after the High Court is the House of Lords, and they're not in the habit of overturning decisions in Business cases......

He can appeal if he decides to go through all the process of appeal courts.. However, it was such an emphatic, damning outcome against him that he would be extremely foolish to do it. He would almost certainly lose the appeal.

I would guess that they will appeal but that will now be after the sale of the club has taken place tonight. The judge made it very clear that he doesn't think they should bother with an appeal and has said there should be no delay in having a meeting to sell the club. Broughton and the rest of the board better be squeaky clean with how this deal is done and give G&H no ammo to use at appeal. The best i would think they can now hope for is maybe damages but i doubt they would win.

At this stage its looking increasingly unlikely that H&G can stop the sale and will probably focus on obtaining damages against the board.
