TAKEOVER COMPLETE - H & G Finally Jibbed!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

RBS and Broughton can counter H+G claims that they actually DID study other alternatives but did not think it served the best interest of the club, and therefore they found NESV's offer appropriate and the best.

2.46pm: From court: G&H QC dismisses Friday's deadline and says that instead the owners and RBS are "locked into an agreement" until 1 November.

The club will be sold to Lim in a backroom deal minimising Hicks and Gillet's losses, they have no other option but to accept it. Lim is playing a very clever game here, still not sure why he wasn't the front runner bid, smacks a bit of the DIC situation 3 years ago!

2.38pm: Much discussion about Mill Financial: my understanding is that, via its lawyers, Mill Financial approached Liverpool recently but were told "the club had already been sold". It has been suggested (by Tom Stewart via email) that "Mill Financial is owned by US Billionaire Dwight Schar, Chairman of NVR and Co-Owner of the NFL Washington Redskins". Checking that out...

Yea, the way I see it, Hicks isnt happy because its not the best deal for him, and thats his argument, whereas, Broughton has taken the bid that is best for the club, dependant on judge, could go wither way :(

2.49pm: In accidentally sent email Martin Broughton mentioned Hicks and Gillet "batting for the other side" along with photoshopped image attachment of the two Americans appearing in lewd sex act. Mr Justice Floyd asks for a copy.

f*ck off Hicks, you claimed to have sacked the board and then this?!?!? pfft

Well formally or not, they did form a subcommittee - out of necessity to sell the club TO THE MOST BENEFICIAL (to the club itself) GROUP POSSIBLE.

They did mate, they even said it was an ''excellent'' offer in the statement last tuesday, but NESV won it because of their sporting background. These claims are not hard to refute!

yes its a very strong point he is making and making it too well in my view.

we could be in the :censored: here.

the best we can hope for is the court to give hicks and the board 24hr to sort the sale of the club out and then turn back up at court....but thats never going to hapen

nonsense.. All it shows is that H&G were spineless, their arguments have no legal grounds. I was worried that they had some bombshell up their sleeves ready to throw at us today. All they have succeeded in doing is demonstrate how desperate and spineless they are. Their gameplan is purely to try and delay the inevitable but even that is going to fail.

its like buying a car, the comments of a person with expert knowledge hold more water then that of an opinion of someone who used to drive the car. in this case, Martin Broughton is the expert. and the judge should consider public policy as a reason for ruling against H&G

Cig, H+G claims are very easy to refute, there are so many ways our lawyers can counter these claims, we just need to hear from them!!!!
