I agree with everything you say and welcome to the takeover thread....now f.ck off back to the Jose thread :D

pmsl, but he has a point, as i said i did not know who they were by name, all i have ever known about them is "un named americans" and they only had the money to be a 3rd party, so to find it was them that had made the board spilt was a shock.. but filled in a lot of gaps.

Lakes:
I think the original point being made was that you were - and continue to - spouting an insufferable amount of spurious rumour (a.k.a. Shyte). You never ever have facts. You have mystical "friends" in the know, who as it turns out DON'T know. Just like you. In fact, just like almost every one of us on this forum. But....YOU are the one who spouts tripe about the takeover.
Take this massive slice of humble pie and gorge on it. Let it be a lesson to you.

tbh,

Lakes might have been full of sh1t but he's certainly kept us entertained.

Speculation vs Fact is often a very fine line.

Anyone who believes Broughton & Purslow's claims that the club's been sold to NESV is being very naive. It's all SPIN & Hicks WILL litigate!

Without access to the paperwork drawn up between these people all we have is the posturing of Broughton and Hicks who now go head to head in a thriller in manilla showdown at the high court. This is the biggest battle Liverpool have ever faced and its off the park. The gloves have come off this week alright and so with baited breath we await the word of a judge who will will ultimately decide the future of our football club. In our hearts we back Broughton, hes convinced us, hes on our side and in our corner but across the way is the arch enemy, the slight underdog, but still a fighter and dangerous opponent. Let us all pray this is one match we dont lose.

The question is whether Hicks will apply for a court order preventing RBS from calling in the loan to give him time to get new financing. If this happens and Citigroup lend Hicks the money to pay off RBS Citigroup will be next after Blackstone to get thousands of e-mails from LFC fans.

Hicks signed an agreement that he couldn't block any sale of the club... for a reasonable fee.

Thats the key. Hicks will claim / attempt to prove that the fee accepted by the board is not a reasonable amount. Hence what Ciggy's just written above

"The Board has no interest in selling the club at less than 50 percent of Forbes value. The court will decide"

He beleives he CAN block the sale if the judge agrees that that £300m is considerably less than the club is presently worth

when deciding the term "reasonable", the judge will be looking at a number of things including the following.

1) amount club was bought for
2) amount of debt brought upon the club
3) number of times loans had to either be extended or taken from a different bank due to financial constraints
4) the club's current league position
5) the owner's ability to pay off debts
6) the contract which allocates powers to Broughton
7) negative impact the soon to be ousted owners have had on the club, fans and the tradition

and im sure there are many more i missed out. but judges will definitely consider the surrounding circumstances and it does look very much in our favor. besides, there's always the COA.

Since i didn't menton Rafa in my last post to many peoples disappointment, I will in this one. :D I say this in jest (mostly), but if Rafa were still the manager some people would have already claimed that he was setting the team out to play sh!t on purpose so as to lower the asking price  .

The worst part about it is, you KNOW it's true.
