Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

no its not over, Hicks has to put up why it should not happen, the court needs to hear both side and have an outline of what both wish, its still 50/50 in my view of what happens in the high court, lets face it, when you talk about the high court they tend to do some very strange things lol

Lakes I thought Hicks signed an agreement that he couldn't block any sale of the club? Isn't he in breach of that? I hope we don't get some half :censored: yank judge who Hicks has paid off.

you can sign an agreement, but if Hicks can show he'll lose 100 million on a deal he sees as not right he can block it, at least temporarily until we go into administration and get the 60 million fine. hes probably looking for another 20 million and thinks this will get him it

Hicks responded in an e-mail to The News: "The Board has no interest in selling the club at less than 50 percent of Forbes value. The court will decide."

Hicks has just emailed Radio City

Hicks signed an agreement that he couldn't block any sale of the club... for a reasonable fee.

Thats the key. Hicks will claim / attempt to prove that the fee accepted by the board is not a reasonable amount. Hence what Ciggy's just written above

"The Board has no interest in selling the club at less than 50 percent of Forbes value. The court will decide"

He beleives he CAN block the sale if the judge agrees that that £300m is considerably less than the club is presently worth

The problem i see for Hicks is that he put Broughton and the rest of the board together. Any judge should see that Hicks must have expected Broughton to be a puppet. Now that he's turned out not to be a puppet he's taking the issue to court.

I would like the judge to ask where exactly he put this supposed investment of 140 million - was it to the club or to service loans he took out

Has anyone read Harry Redknapps comments defending Hicks and Gillett for all of this?  What an idiot!

He seems to think that the Americans invested loads of money and Rafa wasted it all.

i thought he'd know better being Jamie's dad.

i think hicks was quite clever in his investment as far as the money trail goes  - what i mean by that is he used his own money to pay for big transfers like torres, masherano, keane, aquilani, and for stadium plans etc etc. Then all our operational profits (plus some of their money) service the loans. He can then always say sentances like "I've put my own money into this club, I paid for the transfer of Fernando Torres" etc
