Thanks to the cancerous pair we have suffered over the years, they have painted an unfair picture for all american business men. We have to get past that.

and he is the owner of the most successful MLB for the past decade. ive faith that this guy knows what to do to create a championship winning team.

It's not the same.  The draft system is a totally different animal to how it works in football.   A franchise in American sports is pretty much guaranteed to generate significant income no matter how the actual side performs while in Football it’s not like that.   I wouldn’t look at the success of the Red Sox on the pitch and use that as a barometer of how he would fare with LFC.

This club requires significant investment.  We are talking hundreds of millions pounds and while I be as happy as anyone that the current idiots will be gone I don’t just want some rescue package where the majority of the debt is cleared but then the club is left basically treading water.

baseball is the most transferable to European football of the major American sports.  Yes there is a draft, but you are drafting 18 year old kids, and players don't really step up to the majors for 3-6 years.  You have to develop your own talent, and the bigger clubs can afford to have overseas development academies because foreign players do not need to go through the draft system.  Also, there is no salary cap in baseball, if you want a good team you have to pay for the privilege.

The Red Sox have the 2nd biggest payroll in baseball.

They wont go splashing cash around showing off their big D.icks like a Man City or Chelsea.  Instead they will likely milk every dime possible they can through increasing revenue, and then smartly reinvest that money into the team.  Winning is the most important thing, because that is what ensures your asset is worth the most.

The Red Sox owner is not (or at least was not) a Red Sox fan.  He was involved in many other different baseball teams before becoming the Red Sox owner.  He has respected the history of the club while also realizing that the fans wanted a winner desperately and did what was needed to make that happen.

I don't understand the obsession on here with nationality.  Yes H&G were American.  They were also white, how come nobody is saying no more white owners?  They were both men, nobody is saying no more men owners.  No more grey hair owners!

Well im hearing lots of positive things about this fella from red sox fans. True to his word by the sounds of things. Still cautious optimism though.

Some people think he might just use LFC to fund more money into his baseball team but surely it can work both ways. The red sox are a very succesfull team now and are always generating funds, whats to say he wont use those funds on investment here?

What im most happy about at the moment is the utter panick Hicks is clearly in. All this time he expected a minimum of 600 mill for the club and then boosh Broughton swoops him and f.ucks him right in the poop shaft
:)

Thats Karma for ya Hicks :p

Couldnt agree more and soon or later that bubble will burst for the plastic champions

Old Hicks fighting to the last lawyer, I wonder if its really about the money or just like some sort of modern day Attila or Gengish Khan. It all about the thrill of pillage and ego of empire

Hey Joe, nice to see you.

I wouldn't take it personally mate.  There've been a few who grumbled about Yanks Part 2 but I'd say that most people have been quite open minded about the possibility, all things considered.  It's clear that a lot of people are desperate for some good news and the idea of Hicks and co. being kicked into touch has produced part of the feel good factor.  But, I think what the few Red Sox fans who have joined up have told us has also given people some hope, as have other sources that suggest that this Henry fellow has done the job well in Beantown.  Early days yet of course but this might just be the proverbial corner we're turning here and quite a few people are allowing themselves to believe...more grubby Yanks notwithstanding. :D
