Now if the vast majority of that debt isn't there ,the profit can either be plowed back into the team or into the owners back pocket . Makes things look alot healthier in that respect.

yer only 37 mil left, thats about the norm for a big company.

yes we could clear that debt in a year.......aslong as we give up the idea of a new ground.

the only way the new ground will be built is with a loan.........dont sound good to me mate, what do you think?

ok so lets look at what could happen during the next few weeks.

the sale looks like being put on hold. the act of court would also stop the club from making any profit from its self, this means the only way fans could see the games is if they were free. the club shop would also have to be shut during this time and the online site shop.

the court colud also act and stop the club from speading any money, this could mean player using their own money to get to games, it would also mean no staff to be paid during this time, the club could ask them to work for free, but let it be known they would get their money if the sale happens.

But they shouldn't have to do that should they?  Wouldn't it be a good thing to get the house in order, up and running, and let those that live in the house be able to support the household?

Thats approx £10 million a year which is double what a £100k a week premiership footballer earns. It's not peanuts but I'm surprised that the US to UK wage ratio isn't greater given the sheer size of the US market and the money it's baseball generates.

lol no, the new owners not have the money for player mate. they only just got the money to buy the club.

all money from players will come from sales of our players. in truth that makes me happy as we have so much young :censored: at our club we can clean them up and sell them on.

Lakes you dont know a thing - the whole company is worth over a billion dollars its not just this one guy .

Hey, all said and done - H & G are pretty much out!  GONE!!  BYE BYE F**KERS!  A dark chapter, the darkest, in our history is over.  If the court case goes our way and the sale approved, I think we can be cautiously optimistic.  Once bitten, twice shy - sure.  But for now, after a torrid time, I am celebrating.  Literally, I am.  having a few mates round for drinks tonight because of this.  Those club-wreckers are gone and they didn't make a profit out of their investment either.  :D   Greedy tw*ts got what they deserved.  Overjoyed!  And also, can I say how impressed I've been with Broughton.  In his interview with LFCTV, he comes across as a guy who knew exactly what he was doing - patient, determined to get the right deal for the good of the club when everyone was clamouring.  Well, here's hoping anyway ....

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has welcomed news of the proposed takeover of the club.

New England Sports Ventures (NESV), the parent company of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, have had a £300million bid accepted by the Anfield board.

Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton believes it will take a week for the deal to go through with current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett challenging the sale via the courts, while the Premier League have indicated they could grant their approval as early as Friday.

Defender Carragher believes the takeover would be a good move for the club and hopes it will happen as soon as possible so the focus can return to the pitch, where Roy Hodgson's side are in the relegation zone.

He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Everyone knows it'll be a good thing for the club.

"Hopefully it will be sorted sooner rather than later and we can start looking forward on the pitch and start improving results, which is what we need to do."

Why would you want Arab owners?  They own like half of England already.

Nothing to do with politics, race or religion ... but it seems that they are the one that got more money ...

The money over there is drying out and rather rapidly - they have blown billions trying to build big buildings etc .

Not really. You're not taking into account the revenue we generate, and how that was going out to pay for the debts and not towards where it was needed. With no debt on the club, the revenue we generate can go towards what matters, i.e paying off a new stadium, which in turn will generate even more income for better players. House in order first, rest follows.

Hick will also try to stop the club from making any profit during this time.
Hicks could ask the pream to block liverpool from playing any game or for games to be set under closed doors.

this is going to get very nasty now.

the club was sort of solf 3 hours ago yet Hicks is in place to get it all put in the bim.

the sale of the club still leaves us with a debt of 37mil, thats about the norm for a big company.

buy do the new owners have the funds to buy players and build a ground.....no.
