John William Henry II (born September 13, 1949) is a futures and foreign exchange trading advisor who founded John W. Henry & Company (JWH). He is the principal owner of the Boston Red Sox and co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing and ableenterprises.co.uk. In March 2006, Boston Magazine estimated his net worth at $860 million, but noted that his company had recently experienced difficulties.[1] In May 2007, reports in the Wall Street Journal[2] and Bloomberg noted further difficulties with the firm

Henry and Werner established New England Sports Ventures in 2002. The company owns the Boston Red Sox, 80% of the New England Sports Network (which also carries the NHL's Boston Bruins), Fenway Park, Fenway Sports Group - a sports marketing and management firm, and various real estate properties surrounding Fenway Park.

because we're not actually sold yet.

because H & G are still digging their heels in and trying to sack Ayre and Purslow

because one set of americans could be the same as the last

because there's no spade in the ground

because hicks is still alive

"I am delighted that we have been able to successfully conclude the sale process which has been thorough and extensive," said Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton.

"The Board decided to accept NESV's proposal on the basis that it best met the criteria we set out originally for a suitable new owner. NESV's philosophy is all about winning and they have fully demonstrated that at Red Sox.

"We've met them in Boston, London and Liverpool over several weeks and I am immensely impressed with what they have achieved and with their vision for Liverpool Football Club.

"By removing the burden of acquisition debt, this offer allows us to focus on investment in the team. I am only disappointed that the owners have tried everything to prevent the deal from happening and that we need to go through legal proceedings in order to complete the sale."

I have a good feeling. Thanks to Gillett and Hicks all precautions have been administered Broughton has been very thorough before agreeing to sell.

I should be over the moon that we're being sold, but alarm bells are ringing in my head knowing that once again it's going to be more Yanks business men owning us. I don't like it and I don't for one second trust the kunts! My faith in our board to do the right thing is absolutely zero.

At least things are moving and we can now see that Purslow and Broughton are trying to shift Hicks and Gillett out. For sure there is still going to be one hell of a battle over the next few weeks but lines have been drawn in terms of whos side people are on which there has been some doubt about. Its bound to unsettle us if the bids from America but we cannot control who makes an offer and frankly we not in a position to wait around hoping for an Arab to show up and start throwing money about. We are what we are and have to deal with the reality rather than the dream.
