I think the "babelians" are justified in their advocation of him getting more playing time until continuing to select less goal-threatening alternatives is proven to be the right choice (ie. We win something).

Never going to make it at Liverpool. Should have sold him in the summer. He will never be a regular, consistent contributor to first team football for us.

The one thing Babel could bring to the team if he was given a chance is pace.

He was woeful against the mighty Northampton.
That for me was the final straw.

I would usually prefer him in the team to Jovanovic as he does offer something once in a blue moon. But his attitude is shocking and he has had too many chances now.

If he needs a decent run in the team (which he seems to think) then hes not going to get it. The previous and the current manager dont rate him and why hes here (please dont say money) Ill never know

he isn't good enough, hasn't been for a couple of years now. He has talent, but he lacks the brains to use it.

It's looking liek it was a bad move to turn down the 9 million quid bid of Brum a season or two ago, but in fairness to the manager at the time he probably thought he wasn't going to get the funds to reinvest.

He has ability but unfortunately is a bit of a doughnut, and at 11.5 million quid was a poor buy with the benefit of hindsight.

If we are playing good then no body cares about Babel but why not give him a chance as we can't be worse. At least he has pace and power. He had some good stretches when he came off the bench. It is not doing any just have him sitting there while we need some offense. He has flaws of course but at least he can create something but doing his obvious more playing left cutting to middle and shoot. I haven't seen anything like this from our existing players and will pace, we can create more space. We should play him on the left, cole on the right with gerrard and miereles in middle with ngog or kuyt with torres up front. I'm sure this team will perform better for sure. I have no idea why Roy is against playing a more flawless passing game rather then have everyone stay at the back. By doing so, there is virtually no space and thus more hoofing is needed.

I think Roy should play Ryan Babel where he was bought to do as a striker and go 4-4-2 Babel and Torres up front and not as a winger
