Mireless's game is to come from deep; with him behind Torres and Gerrard in CM we lose the strengths of both players, we lack cutting edge in attack and shape in the non-possession phase.

This will be a long day folks!

I'll admit to knowing next to nothing about Meireles, but this isn't the game to blood a new CM combination with him and Poulsen. I'd much rather have Gerrard in CM today.

Him and Konchesky look like two puddins. Konchesky was getting roasted out on the left for the first 5 minutes there. Poulsen should have been helping him out. People slag off Lucas, but at least he gets the foot in.
