Theres some money to be made in Liverpool FC, but I think its dawning on people that theres no big money in sport (as in big profits to the owner) and Hicks and Gillette will go through a lot of pain in releasing this (unfortunately, likely at out short term expense).

This could drag on for another year or so ( I believe they will ultimately manage to re-finance if it comes down to it) at Liverpool FC's short term expense, but as long as our next owners have reasonable shoulders on their heads Liverpool's future should be good.

I dont for a minute buy into the long term doom and gloom/Apocalpse Now scenarios put forward by  some fans although the next season or so in the league could be sticky.

Yeh lets just put our hands over our ears and scream lah lah lah and it will all go away . Nice .

but he makes a good point, money in sport is getting very short, RBS are going to pull almost all its funding in sport (Any Murry makes loads from them and Button in F1)

It time for a re think in the UK of what we feel needs the money and what dont, we sit here day after day kicking off that or club has no money but theres not much talk of how hard money is getting for us in our own lives.
i will come clean and say that right now things are getting bad for me, almost all my funding has been cut and i running around sorting my own work, i am going to be very short of money in the next few weeks and thats why i have already done my xmas shopping now, as i had the money now.

why do we kick off when our team dont spend 25mil on a new striker? well we look to our club and sport to make us feel better when things in our own lives look :censored:, so it dont help that when we look at something to make us feel good it just makes us even more depressed.

lets not forget that greed has put us here....not just our club but the whole of sport, the whole of world money and the way we live our lives.

kind regards

having a very bad day with DIY

Lakes there two people and two people only who put us into this mess . Now because our commercial department has got it's act together if we disdn't have the debt we would be making a profit of £40 -£60 million per annum . That's money that could be plowed back into the team . If we didn't have the debt we would be pretty sound finacially ,we'd just have to borrow the money to build a new stadium and that would pay for itself .

Couldn't put it better myself. Everyone saying we need new stadium to compete. It's :censored:. Without the debt the yanks have put on us we could entertain a big money signing every year.

Match day income became a small part of all income along time ago. Too many talking about the Arsenal model. Well guys, get this. Location, location, location. They make a huge amount from extra curriculum activities. Internationals, gigs, etc. Also, can charge a higher premium cos they are in London.

Sorry lakes, but not all are suffering just now. There is plenty of money out there. We are Liverpool Football Club. One of the five biggest clubs in the world. Its just we have two wanks in charge who have :censored: us every way possible. Oct 6th for me cant come quick enough

think you need to open your eyes, not many clubs are selling out games this year and apart from clubs that have just gone down its been a very bad start to the year for all shirt sales and other bit, even the russian have cut the prive of the club dvds as they are not selling.

as the year moves on les and less of us are going to have money to spend on our free time, this is going to hit football very hard, sky are also worried that viwers are going to stop having the sports packs and are getting ready with some good deals to to keep us paying them for the sports.

talk about building a new ground right now is not a good idea, who ever buys the club must hold off untill the uk is better and this could be 4 to 7 years off.

yes we might get a good new owner but unless they wish to run the club at a loss during the building of the new ground and for 4 years after that then great,  week in week out we will not be able to fill a new ground by next year, we will (us fans) just not have the money to spend going to games.

You see:

'Sources close to Barclays Capital have indicated that the unnamed bidder is 'leading the race' to win control of the club with as many as five bidders understood to be at 'in-depth' stages of due dilligence.'

5 bidders so you'd extend the loan with provisos would ya?  :idea

no, if you wish to get shot of the loan you tell them to bloody hurry up and get on with it or you are pulling the loan.

sorry the bottom line is RBS are making far too much money off us ti wish the loan was ended.
they dont give too shits about a football team all they are looking for is how much money they can make out of giving us the loan.

5 bidders??? ok so we have not been there before, i i call the club and offer them £5 for it will that make six bidders?

soory but after the chats i have had this week with friends i feel very down about our club right now.

i hope that if there are 5 bidders then one of them can make us debt free and not just buy out the loan or take over the loan.

THE FEWER SERIOUS BUYERS THERE ARE THE BETTER.

THAT WAY, THE FANSHARE SCHEME WILL WORK AT THE CHEAPEST POSSIBLE ENTRY LEVEL.

SO FAR SO GOOD.

Think i need to open my eyes? Well, isnt our home shirt the fastest selling one ever?

So, if clubs arent selling all seats at matches then its right to build a new stadium? Think not. Without the debt put on our club by them two we'd make profit.

Why will less and less of us not spend on Football. Im doing better than ever. Not everyone is :censored:. Thats just the media outlets that have you believe this :censored:. Its to keep us in check. So much spin in this country.

Good luck with the deals from sky. Never happen. What the :censored: has the russian discounting dvd's got to do with us. They're are a mickey mouse fan base.

Do you ever stop with your drivel?

I must admit I did wonder what implosion would look like and now we see it..... silence from the owners, silence from the board, the new manager getting torn to shreds and even our mega players like Torres getting slagged off by a former captain and our greatest goalkeeper.

Is this the cancer we have to rid ourselves of before we can start afresh?

Is this the level we have dropped to in just an incredible 3 years of yank ownership?  Incredible isnt it?

23 days to go.

Slagging off Hodgson at this stage is like asking the firemen not to step on the flowerbeds as your house is burning down.
