Nobody is sure

We could lose points or the yanks could just make another loan to pay it off

Or hopefully, RBS will take over from the yanks in finding a new owner and they will sell us very soon because the high asking price will no longer exist.

I think an RBS takeover is the only real way forward.

I´m sure BarCap, Broughton and Purslow are working 14 hours a day analysing unpublicised approaches and are quietly lining up workable solutions - all in direct opposition to the owners who funnily enough, they work for.

Has anyone considered that Hicks could use his OWN money to pay off the loan, after all there is a first time for everything.

Well if they get another loan that's no good, it will do nothing and we'll still be broke with another deadline and it will be the same thing all over again. If the Royal Bank takes over in finding a new owner what will happen to the debt? Will it be paid by the new owner himself? And in the worse case scenario, what if we lose 9 points? What good will it do to the guys that we owe the money to? They still wont get any money by doing that. I've seen it happen a few times to few other teams but I never understood why it's done that way.

Don't worry about looking stupid, a lot of this is quite hard to understand.  Thats why they're all millionaires.

The truth is... no one really knows what can or will happen.

I suspect that RBS will gain control in October.

At this point, the nature of the sale changes. In effect, RBS will own a Football Club in place of a Debt. So, rather than Broughton et al trying to find the buyer which will be best for the club (long term), it will be a case of finding a buyer who will match what RBS want to cover the debt.

RBS might want the full £237 million up front, they might 50% and provide finance for the other 50% (subject, I would imagine, to ensuring the new buyer can properly afford the finance option!!)

The final option left to them would be to sell the asset they would have to pay off the debt, much like they would sell off a repossessed house.

So, come january, they could flog Torres, Gerrard, Reina etc. etc. Sell Anfield and so on and cover their losses.

This is extremely unlikely. More likely in my opinion is that one of the rumoured bidders who have apparently been flirting with Liverpool for some months will no realise that in 4 weeks time, the price is likely to be half what it is now and will be waiting patiently.

I don't expect a lot to happen now until the deadline is reached.

I see... so becouse the owners cant pay the debt, the club will be taken from them and it will be sold to the first person that will offer the amount of the debt money. But we're fecked if there are no potential buyers, but as you said I think that that's very unlikeable as well. No points will be taken from us, right?
