And opens again in January Torres was told by Purslow in majorca that this would all be over soon and convinced him to stay, but has his blessing to leave in january if we arnt.

Great just fecking great  :no

I think this is more scaremonering, nothing you've speculated about has been correct you should stop acting as an ITK.

Liverpool won their most crucial battle of the summer when they persuaded Fernando Torres to remain at Anfield, but the challenge now is to ensure they are able to enjoy the spoils of war. With the Spain team and Barcelona circling, Roy Hodgson is again having to fight a rearguard action to convince Torres that now is not the time to pine for home.

The dust had hardly settled on Hodgson’s first Barclays Premier League victory as Liverpool manager when his thoughts turned to keeping Torres, the player who had earned him the win, out of Spanish hands, with Vicente del Bosque having included the 26-year-old in his squad for the matches against Liechtenstein and Argentina next month.

Hodgson may have an even bigger problem where Torres is concerned — Barcelona are reportedly ready to pounce at the merest hint that Liverpool’s match-winner against West Bromwich Albion is tiring of life at Anfield, with Xavi Hernández articulating a growing belief in Catalonia that one of Madrid’s most famous sons could yet be snared.

“If Liverpool have another disappointing season, that will be it for him,” Xavi said. “The season before last, Liverpool sold Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid and now this season they have sold \ Mascherano. Being brutally honest, they haven’t brought any top-class players in to replace the ones they have sold.

“They haven’t tried to improve the squad. ‘Nando’ deserves to be playing with the best players, like he does with Spain. Our coach, Pep Guardiola, is a big admirer of Fernando. If he wanted to leave next summer, I would imagine Barcelona to be very much in the running.”
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

He sounds like a right k.unt.

Since they've won the WC they think they can do anything the arrogant w@nkers.

Did you see them putting the Barca shirt on Fabregas during their celebrations  :no

Sincerely, I hope Maureen is able to knock them down a peg or two and sh.ut them up.

Admittedly it's arrogance on their part, but in a way who can blame them ? Many of them World Cup winners; playing the best footie on the planet for the past 2 years (save for the beating by Maureeno's spoiling tactics)...and who wouldn't want Nando to play with them ?

I'm not condoning their antics but I can see why he's stirring up trouble. I agree he's a ku.nt for mouthing off like this. More's the pity we're not in a position to ram that comment up his hoop this season...

They are arrogant, and are coming across as using lousy tactics, but with regards to Fabregas, didnt Arsenal poach him from Barcelona?

Arrogance takes all forms, some are more obvious.

Everything Xavi says is correct though isnt it?

And Torres has been lied to again. Enjoy him whilst we have him if we are not taken over soon he will go to Barca.

If Torres is to go he wont go in January. If he was promised money will come into the club and it dosent then I dont blame him if he wants to go. But I dont think it will be till next summer

No. We have brought in Joe Cole. A quality player. We have lost Mascherano and replaced him with Meireles. And what does Xavi class as quality? Players who cost a fortune as the club he plays for can afford it? or players who are not so well known, cost less, and can still do a job?

Generally what Xabi is saying is if Liverpool dont spend about £30 million a player, Torres is off ! Its in my nature to disagree with such thoughts.

Barca couldn't even meet its payroll earlier this Summer!  Spanish football is in danger of becoming a slightly bigger version of the Scottish premiership.  Two big clubs, a bunch of minnows, and little interest.

Funnily enough, its been like that for a long time. Rafa in his time at Valencia, interrupted that pattern.

From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.
