not sure if its been posted but the word is that both bids that have been put in for the club are not to be taken by the club and we are looking for NEW buyers, G&H have told the board that they will to stay in place and look for a 3rd party to invest into the club....c.unts if true.

Well im off on me months holiday in the mornin, and they had better have fecked off before i come back, cant be doing with this no more, peace and quiet can resume while im gone, i might have a little sneaky check on on yous though if hes not looking :laugh:

HE Royal Bank of Scotland is poised to step in and take control of Liverpool Football Club if a buyer cannot be found.

RBS, which was bailed out by the government with taxpayer’s cash in October 2008, is owed £237m as the chief creditor of LFC.

The bank has said this money must be repaid by October 6, or they will demand a penalty fee of £60m.

That date is just seven weeks and two days away.

Negotiations to find a new owner for the club are well underway, but the ECHO understands that talks with potential suitors, including China’s Kenny Huang and Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi, have yet to yield an attractive enough bid.

Insiders have also said preparatory talks with LFC bosses have been held in recent weeks to discuss what will happen if the search for a buyer fails and how the football club and bank will proceed.

It has been a turbulent August for those in the Liverpool board room, where chairman Martin Broughton is leading the search for a new owner.

The club has been linked with everyone from mega-rich Middle Eastern families to the government of Communist China.
A source close to the negotiations said neither RBS or LFC wanted the bank to step in, and every effort was being made to find a suitable buyer for England’s most successful football club.

The Reds new season got underway at Anfield yesterday with a 1-1 draw against Arsenal – a match in which debutant Joe Cole was shown a straight red card.

Hours before kick-off, Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow said he and chairman Martin Broughton, were in the process of sorting “the wheat from the chaff” in the bids.

Mr Purslow said: “We have had a number of bids for the club. We will take time to examine those extremely carefully. I would not expect it to be a lifetime – but I would not expect it to be tomorrow either. We have just received some written bids at this stage, and it would be wrong to characterise anybody as a front-runner.”

Well, if we are not sold more or less within a week I can not see us being sold before October.

Why buy the club when the transfer window is shut with no chance of improving the team for the season(and no,January never has been and never will be a window where you change a season with signings) there is a big risque that there will be no CL footie 2 seasons in a row. If you bought us in the window the buyer could have strengthen the team the enhance the chances of CL footie next season.

RGB > "I see no ships...." But I would make an observation which might explain RBS's sqeaky bottom attitude.

RBS are owed 237 million out of a mooted 350 million club valuation.

If your loan was 68% of the club value, wouldnt you be looking to take control of the situation?

Are we now seeing the first club takeover to try to get people on board using the power of the internet. ie trying to get a head of steam up so that so many people are saying "Huang will be good for LFC" that anyone who dares to say "Hang on a minute. What do we actually know about this guy or his backers" immediately has their motives doubted. Such a person is obviously a paid agent of G&H, or a dupe of G&H.

I am very worried about how successful Huang's marketing campaign appears to have been. He wants to get the club as cheaply as possible, which is fair enough. But all bidders want that. So why is Huang's low offer uniquely seen as a strike against G&H?

He also hasnt revealed his backers. I'd like to know who they are at some stage. But if we dont know who they are, then why are we assuming that the secrecy indicates his backers are CIC?

We havent yet found out if he is even proposing to clear the RBS debt or not. If he is clearing it, then we dont know whether he is simply taking out a loan of the same size with a different bank.

I am not arguing that there are not sound business reasons for keeping details of the bid confidential. Obviously there are. But people need to bear in mind that he hasnt spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on a PR campaign for no reason. He has got people on his side by advertising, and nothing else. If he had such a great bid, then couldnt he just complete the transaction in silence, and then reveal the truth behind the bid? If it is 20% as good as people now seem to think (based on claims planted by his PR company) then people would love it as soon as they saw it.

Thus, I have to assume that Huang does NOT think that people will love his bid when the true facts are revealed. Hence the need for manipulation of the media and the forums.

Its a real good post. I mean Huang was being touted as the right bid and many were hoping his bid would be accepted even without knowing the details.

Kidri may well not be the solution but Huang has done nothing to show the fans he is. Contacting SOS was a PR move, plain and simple.
