Shows you how desparate the market is, the 2-3 offers on the table must be so disappointing they cant afford to sell.

Conversely, its false bs to try to scare the bidders to go higher etc...

At the end of the day who gives a to$$, T&T are already history.

Ok this is what I have been told
Liverpool board are unhappy with both bids they have received
Kenny Huang  was going fund his bid by use of a loan from the financial sector of the Chinese stock market.
Buy off the RBS loan with another loan on the club in hope to grow the club to profit, the same idea that Tom Hicks and George Gillett had when they took over the club.

Yahya Kirdi was more solid but fell short due to no forward looking plan for the club. There were also questions about how he was going to fund the club in the transfer market  and new stadium.
Kirdi has been on contact with the club and has been open to questions but his answers have left the board less than convinced.

oh i should add that this is the information that is going around in the city and not from the news media.

F(cking fantasist.

I think he will said that they have NOT found a suitable buyer and there's NO rush of selling the club .... I think in truth that there are numbers of buyers but only they wont buy at 600M ( h and g only will sell the club at min @ a price of 600M ) .

I thought H&G could get out voted by Purslow, Broughton and Ayres

And do you really believe in reality that that is ever going to happen!

These two abominations have positioned people on the board to ensure that they are not outvoted. Niave they are not!

Purslow said the board where going through the bids but could not put a timescale on when they would reach a decision. Also said Hodgson has been looking at players and expects one or two to be coming in and a couple out as well. Frustrating that its taking so long and ofcourse we are racked with suspicion but I guess ensuring the right decision is made this time is worth the wait.

to be honest, if the club isnt sold by October, its a good thing  in a way that the owners lose their bargaining power right? and as for player transfers, there's always the Jan window.

Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow admits his club need to find new owners "as soon as possible" but will not make any hasty compromises on their future.

The Reds are still under the ownership Tom Hicks and George Gillett, but chairman Martin Broughton is on a mission to find the Americans' successors.

Purslow this morning made it clear the timescale to identify the new owners is relatively short, with stability required and a new season already under way.

"We have had a number of bids for the club. We will take time to examine those extremely carefully," he told BBC Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek programme.

"Second to that is [the need] to sell the club as soon as possible."

Purslow insists nonetheless the right buyer - Chinese businessman Kenny Huang and Canadian-based Syrian Yahya Kirdi are reportedly among the interested parties - is much more important than the quickest one.

"We will make sure we take our time," he continued.

"I am not going to put a time limit on it. The challenge now is to sort the wheat from the chaff.

"I would not expect it to be a lifetime - but I would not expect it to be tomorrow either.

"We have just received some written bids at this stage, and it would be wrong to characterise anybody as a front-runner."

Liverpool, only seventh in the Barclays Premier League last season, are in urgent need of a much more successful campaign under new manager Roy Hodgson.

They have managed to retain the services of stalwart midfielder and captain Steven Gerrard and striker Fernando Torres, as well as signing Joe Cole from Chelsea. But Purslow accepts there will be some departures too, with Argentinian Javier Mascherano among the most likely.

"The target is significant improvement. We think our club and players belong in the Champions League - so that is where we would like to be," he said.

"I think there will be one or two more ins and outs. There are a few people who will move on.

"Javier has been wanting to go for personal reasons.

"We have not had any offers for him, and the manager is very happy with him. But it is true he is looking for a move."
