I hope so but like I said all this talk of this fella acting on behalf of a group of multi-squillionaires, talk of signing Messi and a f*ckton of world class players and an immediate start to the 200,000 seater stadium that will be ready before the Arsenal game just has me thinking that if something sounds too good to be true it unfortunately usually is. Its a shame to because Lionel Messi would be a fantastic understudy to Dirk Kuyt  :rasp

Do you know what all this hes put a bid in and there are six more bids, yes it might be a load of rubbish but for a long time now i have always in the back of my mind thought Shiekh Mo would be in the shadows just waiting, Idunno its just a feeling i have had for a long time now, that he will eventualy own us, Myself personaly thinks he is still there , yeh i know it might sound mad but i do still believe that Sheikh Mohammed al Maktoum will eventualy be our owner,

a worrying article.

its like we've set ourselves up for a fall again...

Liverpool insiders at the highest level insist there are multiple interested parties involved in talks about buying the club and that a preferred bidder should emerge in due course, perhaps within a few weeks.

Due diligence on any bidder, and their ability to take to club forward, specifically in funding a new 60,000-plus seat stadium that could cost up to £400m “is of the utmost importance, now more than ever” one source said.

“There is formal process and BarCap runs it,” said another source. “You cannot simply go to RBS or Wachovia or Bank of America and try to do a unilateral deal because it won’t work and it won’t stack up.

“Mr Huang did not want to sign a confidentiality agreement and you have to ask why.”

A source who knows Huang well said: “Kenny is good at making deals, as in facilitating deals for other people. He would certainly be capable of bringing people together. But Kenny is also very, very good at promoting Kenny.”

just going to post almost the same thing as bav.

looks like he going to buy out one loan only to get another loan to buy the club with.............this can not be good for the club, under new rules coming in we could see ourselves booted out of the EL.

the offer is 50mil short of the asking price and even they they donr seem to have the money to do the deal witout help, lets hope the other offer on the table is better.

none of them are as good as the deal DIC put on the tabel over a year ago only for Hicks to muck it up.

What I hope - Martin Broughton and BARCAP have been appointed to oversee the sale of the club to a suitable owner. If there is any doubt whatsoever about the legitimacy of any bidder then they will veto that bid straight away.

What I fear – Broughton and BARCAP have seen the state of the club and realised that the yanks are going to be harder to get rid of than was originally thought. As a result they are preparing for a Chinese auction (pardon the pun) for LFC that will result in a quick sale to anyone willing to pay £Xm. That has massive potential risks to LFC and it is a genuine worry of mine.

What I think - I believe a lot of what has happened over the past 24-48 hours is political jostling in an attempt to hasten the sale process of Liverpool Football Club.
On Heung – the thought of us becoming Mac Cityesque and having the ability to buy anyone we want does excite me in the short term but I would not wish to see LFC turned in too a money man’s play thing that runs the risk of going completely t*ts up if/when he gets bored. I am sure we would all want to hear a medium to long term plan around long term sustainability through sponsorship in far east, academy development, potential commercial tie ups in lucrative Far East markets, stadium development etc and not run the risk of someone buying the club to treat it like some fantasy football game that when they get bored they jump ship and leave the club in tatters.

Long term ‘Whole Club Development’ is absolutely paramount IMO.

Heung appears to be quoted as saying a lot of the right things around tapping into Far East markets etc but any bidder will be making the same noises (promises) in order to convince LFC management, BARCAP and RBS to sell.
Like many on here this jury is still out but I am encouraged by the developments over the past couple of days.

well if you look at what he s trying to do it is smart. by buying the clubs debt from RBS he is starting a takeover and could get the rest of the club at a very low price.

but it could all go very wrong, as i have said before i do fear that Hicks could still be left at the club, the guy is not well and has not been for sometime so i would hope he would cut and run but he might not.

Im pretty sure his guy is just the head of an investment group from far east - never has it been stated that he would be buying the club or debt with his own money - he has been very successful in sports by being head of investment groups with the money men just sitting in the background with this guy doing all the work for them . It was stated early on that he was head of an investment group so not sure where people are getting idea that he was buying it outright on his own . He has a proven track record and most certainly has never been bankrupt or has failed in any of his investments .

Unlike Hicks

The bbc are the ones that said he was going to buy the club himself but they seem to have gone back on that a bit now.

dont forget that right now its not a takeover, he is just looking to buy the clubs debt off of RBS.

Will agree with you for once lakes - the investment group who he is heading are being really clever by buying out the debt which will in turn give them a majority stake in the club and the only holding Hicks will have left will be the debt owed by the club do his Kop Caymen Holdings - so all the investment company do is pay back that debt and Hicks no longer has anything to do wih the club - they both walk away with nothing but no longer being in debt - now from what I have been told is no of the money that will be used to pay of all the debt to get rid if them will be coming from banks loans - it's all coming direct from the far east investors . There is a few sticking points - 1. Our new sponsor are very wary about being taken over by far east people and the censorship rules in china and 2. Will the investors build a new stadium and where will the money come from ?
