whatever the situation is the details are far from being made known.
the club should issue a statement clarifying the issue.
from what sensational sports news are saying it appears to be a bid less than the debt owed to rbs.what happens to wachovia here? do we not owe them money also?.then theres twit and :censored:

's loan from kop cayman? which as i thought brought our overall accumulated loans to 540mil?.
why is huang trying to buy from rbs when rbs appointed barcap to negoitiate with any potential buyers?.
where is broughton in all of this?.any why has twit and :censored:

being so quiet thus far,its totally not like them to be sitting on the sidelines watching and doing nothing.

i hope the club issue a statement soon and clarify its position.

Like to hear some concrete details. i.e other than the debt being cleared how much money is going to be pumped in to finance a stadium and players?

I´m sure the club appreciates the need to be absolutely certain of its facts before they make a statement. Club-fan relations are at an all time low, fans are ready to jump on the bandwagon of any prospective new owner so if this doesnt work out and the club have intimated if might be successful then the backlash against the club and owners would be greater still. The club is doing the best thing - keeping a low profile whilst THE BANKS and not the owners, negotiate with the bidder.

Its too important that we get this right, a few more days or weeks of silence is a drop in the ocean compared to whats at stake.

That said, I fully understand your point!

They probably can't yet, seem to remember Broughton saying something along the lines of ignore media speculation, and that true bidders would be invisible to us which kind of makes me slightly sceptical about these latest one's.
In that if something was going on, it would be kept private.

That said, to be honest I see the club's silence as a good thing, as I am assuming they would need to keep things confidential, in that if a statement were issued it would be a denial. So no news is good news, perhaps?

When was the last time you went to China?

I can tell with first hand experience they are not "starved" of brand names. China is the biggest growing economy in the world. The people love western influence. The communist regime is quite lenient on that front, even more so as they never crack down on blatant piracy of brand names.

Liverpool have been marketing to the far east for more than 20 years now. To suggest that our brand name will be stretched to cinemas and cigarettes is ludicrous! Your point that the value of the brand is not the football is patently wrong, how many shirt sales do you think we would sell if we didn't have "big players" such as Gerrard, Torres, etc. Equally if we were relishing mid table the interest would soon dwindle.

There arent many Chinese controlled brands that can be openly exploited. Sure, Levi´s control teh Levi´s brand very closely, but a Chinese brand could very easily divest into other areas.

And yes, I do go to China frequently. :;):

Anyway, lets wait and see, however if I was Chinese and owned the brand and my home market was 1.5 zillion people with a potential revenue of 1 pound per head of the population, I´d be exploiting the brand to the full... which means....
