Kenny Huang, the chief executive of Chinese sports investment company QSL, is believed to have lodged a major bid to take over the Reds several days ago.

And it is understood he is pressing for a decision within days – one which could finally remove American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett – if he is successful in persuading the Reds’ board to agree the sale.

Huang, who is partnered by one of the biggest sovereign wealth funds in the Far East, is co-chairman of the National Basketball League of China and holds the same position with the National Baseball League of China.

He was the first Chinese college graduate from mainland China to work at the New York Stock Exchange.

The QSL Youth Development Support fund is the largest sports related charity fund for under-privileged children in China
Its aim is to create development opportunities for young people in sport and increase the popularity of sport in China.

It is not known how much Huang’s QSL bid involves or at what price it values the five-times European champions.

But it is being suggested a deal would see Huang and QSL effectively take over the Reds’ overall debts of £350m, £237m of which is owed to RBS.

There are said to be plans to not only retain Anfield’s top stars like Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres but to invest further in the transfer market and get the long-since stalled stadium building project back on the agenda.

It could also see Hicks and Gillett depart with little, if any, material profit from their three years co-ownership.

So far, Liverpool FC have made no statement on reports about the bid from Huang.

The club was officially put up for sale in April when Hicks and Gillett appointed British Airways chairman Martin Broughton to oversee any deal.

The closest Liverpool have come to gaining new investment in the past 12 months was when the New York-based equity firm the Rhone Group made a bid to acquire a 40% stake in the club but it was dismissed by Hicks and Gillett.

Finally a bid which can be validated ... It certainly looks like this bid has some substance , I will be absolutely delighted that the fans who have fought tooth and nail against these b@stards can now actually see the light at the end of the tunnel and the actions of S.O.S although criticized by some ....have in some small way been vindicated ... and I would also like to thank every fan or poster who took the time out of their busy schedule to pen thousands upon thousands of letters or compose e-mails to R.B.S ....
It may well prove yet another false dawn ,but nevertheless it is a bid which is not fictitious and can be truly verified ..........and that gives us hope that this disgraceful episode in our illustrious history can finally be put to bed .................

Has anyone thought about googling his credentials? and when I talk of credentials I don't mean whereabouts he goes on his holidays to get his stick of Wok?

The yanks are powerless. They cant make any descision on who buys the club off them, as of 30th July RBS now make the choice.

And the bid is actually closer to £350 Million than £300.

Supposing Hicks and Gillett reject the offer, RBS call in the loan within 2 months can't Hicks and Gillett be investigated by the government and potentially be struck off as directors of another British company?

Two things to bear in mind: the speed of wanting a response is to close the door on other parties that might be or are, close to bidding.

Allowing Loy (as our own Mr Guang calls him...... :laugh:

) time to buy in this transfer window is nice window dressing. He´s slamming the door.

What worries me about China, is that CHINA is a lot bigger than LIVERPOOL. What do I mean by that? We´re a footy club however the Chinese market is so big and so starved of brand names that if we´re not careful you could have Liverpool branded everything - ciggies, insurance, cinemas, bars, etc.. etc.. that have nothing to do with football then THIS business quickly becomes bigger than the club then suddenly the club isnt so important any more.

The value of the brand is not the football, its the association with the club. So far, we´re a footy club, if this fella takes over that could very quickly change.
