As it is though we bombed out and didn't go forwards, infact we leapt backwards. Gerrards 30 now and he probably doesn't fancy playing 24 matches or whatever it is in Europa Cup next season. I don't blame him to be honest, it's a pale imitation fo the champions League.

Unfortunately that's one of the things the new manager will have to deal with. Not only will he have limited resources, but he'll have a couple of his best players gone before he has the chance to work with them. That's not his fault of course, he didn't manage the team into 7th after all, but it'll make his job more difficult all the same. That's even more reason why in my opinion the fans need to back the manager 100%, even if we have a sticky start.

You just cant help yourself can you , every post you have made ,there has been a snide underhanded trying to be clever dig at either were we finished or our previous manager ,
Now its ok by you if Steven leaves because its Rafa s fault hes going isnt that what your trying to say . And then the next thing you say is its vital we back the new manager if some of our top players leave ,because its gonna make his job ever so difficult, Have you listened to yourself.

Has it even crossed your mind that some of our players want to leave because they see no future investment here , If you expect to be playing along side say a David Silva next season and then you are told no sorry dept comes first, of course your gonna get fed up. Any player with a bit of nouse about them will know that as long as these four are here we not gonna be going anywhere soon, There is no future for Liverpool football club while there still here and players wanting out tells me that there not going anywhere soon.

But no some have spun it again because of were Rafa got us to last season, and they dont wanna be playing in the Europa cup, So its his fault again that our players wanna go.
FFS until he came here thats exacly were we were playing .

And i will be gutted if Steven goes but as a few have said i dont blame him but not because of anything to do with were we finished or who are previous boss was ,but the 4 tw.ats who are running this club into the ground,

Back the new manager heis gonna need our backing ,fecking shame a lot of yous didnt think about this last season .one bad season. and concentrate your venom on getting rid of the real problem

Well said !!
The problem is with the owners and the idiots running the club and the sooner we all realise it the better. RAFA WAS NOT THE PROBLEM !!!

I think everyone agrees the ownership of the club is a huge problem. I've listened to phone ins, talked with fellow reds and been on forums for years, and I don't think anyone likes the owners.

Having said that, Lucas for instance isn't good enough to play for Liverpool regularly. I think we should get rid of him and play somebody else in his midfield position. The owners remain a huge problem, but that doesn't mean you stop making the much needed adjustments to improve the team. In the case of Steven Gerrard, as it is him who this particular topic is about, we are more than likely going to be in a situation where we are looking to replace him even tho we've still got the same owners. The owners could be here for ages yet, it's pointless just throwing your hands up int he air and doing nothing until they go, smeone has to get on with the daily run ins of the football club.

If Gerrard performs for R.Madrid like he did for LFC last season and England in the WC, taking the cash wouldn't be a bad move on our part.

You're a joke.

Gerrard has an under par season but was still player of the season.

For England he was one of the few who showed moments of form that we see at club level.

You have no real opinions, you are a sensationalist. Always looking for a controversial comment.

You are the posting equivalent of a red top tabloid, your opinions will never get taken seriously.

You need a Valium fella to calm yourself down.

Gerrard is entering the twilight of his career for all we know, like Carra his form could be waning.

Secondly, if his heart is not 'in it' anymore  where he has given 10 years of sweat and blood to the club it maybe best for all concerned to part company.

Thirdly, (we've had him in his prime, I don't think TBH he is in his prime anymore) Do you think playing in the Europa cup whilst being part of a side fighting for 4th, 5th, and 6th in the league will be enough to snub Real Madrid's advances, his ambitions I think will be higher than that.

With that all said, his last twelve months of football has been disappointing imo (nothing sensationalist about that). Remembering he isn't getting any younger, the club don't meet his expectations so I'm finding it hard to see why selling him gets you pretty much wound up.

Like the rest of his England team mates he was poor during the WC to as well, unless you thought he set the tournament a light.

I think you'll find that Mascherano and Reina pip him on last seasons performances.

Rumours are rife here that the disharmony in the England squad is down to Gerrard.
The rumour about the 16 year old getting pregnant, and there being a gagging order has now be turned into....

Gerrard has got his Mrs' sister pregnant.  All the England squad know about it.  Terry is fuming that SG wasn't stripped of the captaincy.  He wanted to make the issue public in the press conference, but Capello demanded he keep it shut.
Half the squad support Gerrard, others back Terry.
Apparently this is all going to come out in 2 weeks.

you couldn't make it up.

Don't shoot me for posting that.

oh, well that's an easy one. Leave it. Simples.

I mean even if Gerrard wants to leave, every player has their price, and Stevie G is definately worth more than £20m

We should make a £8m take-it-or-leave-it bid for Van der Vaart   :p

Fine - we'll leave it.  Hate Real Madrid.  Always trying to screw us.  £80m last season for that brat ... £20m for our captain???  Get real.

disharmony in the England camp was down to Terry. he tried to over rule Gerrard all the time he was out there. Terry and Rooney had a big bust up over it and some say Rooney hit Terry.
Rooney was on Gerrards side all the time, Terry tried to get the team to play the long ball to Rooney all the time but the idea was to build up from the back, this worked well over the last two years.
Rooney had been told to hlod back for the ball (like when he plays for man u) Rooney picked up that Terry was often going missing from his post during the warm up games and the first game (happend all the time in the last game) He tried to talk to terry but it did not work out, Terry had 3 other players on his side (no names).
Rooney is said to have been under a lot of stress from Terry almost picked on by him.....then he snapped.
