I thought of Digger as well as soon as I saw GJ step onto the pitch sans ponytail.  :D

Mereiles to me looks like the portugese lampard

his striking of the ball is very similar, similar engine

i think hell score alot of goals for us

ps shelvey looks ace

his runs of the ball, how he comes showing for the ball like a playmaker, knows the right pass to make too.

Great goal from Meireles today, himself and Torres showed signs that they were begining to click in attack. Hopefully the clean sheet will give our defense some much needed confidence as well, Skrtel still looks like the weakest link there.

Fulham and Stoke at home in our next two games, hopefuly we can get two good results in those games which should give us confidence going to Chelsea.  With Stevie G to come back and maybe some attacking reinforcements in the transfer window there is no reason we cant push on up the table.

also glen johnson at left back is currently our best option there

you need agger at centre back, as kyriakos-skertel is the worst defence ever

and aurelio aint had a good game in years

Agreed. It's not his strongest position but he's better than Kelly on the left. Kelly is strong on the right so I think until we get in a new LB we should stick to that.

Wow, the season may have just been resurrected for me!
Very good away win... Onwards and upwards!!!!

And pls get the Suarez transfer completed... Him and Torres would have had a field day today...

Yeah the commentator mentioned that as well.  Doesn't control the midfield like Alonso, but he's really good at supporting the attack and getting into the box unnoticed.

think im the only one who doesnt want suarez now

buying suarez means 442, and 442 with our wingers is pointless

were best suited to the 451 or 433 when attacking at the mo

id rather buy two quality wide men than suarez

cause 442 with suarez and torres upfront means our midfield would have to control the game and create better, and i dont think we can currently do that, we need more bodies in centre mid

plus torres always looks better as a lone striker

So relieved Lvp at last got that 1st win for Kenny. Good score BUT since the Meireles' superb volley, Lvp were happy to rest on their laurels and gave Wolves most of the possession and lucky we grabbed a 3rd goal to kill off the game. Also we had the poor finishing of Wolves to thank for.
Poulsen and Lukas were mediocre, Stevie G was sorely missed.
Good score but played awful football in the 2nd half where they were happy to just kick the ball away into the Wolves half.
