I'll take an ugly three points away at Stoke. Can't say I was all that impressed with our play, but a win's a win...

Also thought our defence looked half decent today. Gomez had a few dodgy moments in the first half, but composed himself in the second. Good debut from the lad. Milner also put in a shift.

Happy that we ground out a result ,but until the introduction of Can it was dire football ,thank God for that stroke of genius from little Coutz ,and just before the manager was  about to replace him with Ings.... Three points on the board and at a notoriously difficult ground to visit.

Even though only saw a few mins of firmino, I think he had a good cameo. Seems to have good ball control and was able to keep possession more than Ibe...

Good result but I hope we won't forget about the performance. Things just won't work with Henderson and Milner in midfield.

He should be a starter for next Monday's match at Bournemouth. BR should also forget any idea of playing Henderson and Milner together in the centre of the park...it strangles all of the creativity out of the midfield because neither of them are playmakers or defensive midfielders with an eye for a pass. Henderson's attempted cross in the penalty area pretty much summed him up as the workhorse he is. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's alway sh.t at Stoke !!  I'll happily take the 3 points. Scumchester United won ugly for most of last season and it got them a totally unexpected CL spot the fkrs !!

Meh, yeah we weren't great but I think we deserved the 3 points.

It's not like they had a ton of chances.  Played a good away game and got a great goal.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Good result. Any win will do. And Stoke have been real tough opponents for us.

Lots of ticky-tacky and ping-pong but NO penetration. Never looked like scoring apart from the one off unscripted goal.

Beneteke understandably wanted to be everywhere but that's not his job. Stevie picked out Torres 100 times because he knew where Torres was and Torres had the discipline to wait for his pass. Benteke will learn, but I hope he does by the Arsenal game in 2 weeks. If he runs all over the place like a spare pr!ck at a wedding thenthey won't know where he is and will have to delay the pass whilst they look for him

Benteke - watch some old videos of Torres and Gerrard.

Delighted with 3 points as I thought that should have been the minimum requirement asked today.
Thought we were ropey enough just playing keep ball before lumping it at the big lad. We hardly threatened them at all. Poor all round from Henderson and the llama is just terrible. Falls over at even the slightest thought of a touch.
Thought Can steadied us up when he came on and a super strike from Coutinho to steal the 3 points. Firmino looked good also when he came on.
