The game is on ESPN in the UK with coverage from 19:30.

It looks like quite a few players will be unavailable; Doni, Sahin and Assaidi (ineligible), Lucas and Cole (injured), Spearing, Adam and Carroll (possibly leaving the club within 24 hours).

Even with all those players out I suspect we will rotate with Sunday’s game with Arsenal in mind and the fact we have a 1-0 lead. Personally I would go with something like this and look to give Enrique and Agger the second half as I'm guessing they are still a bit short on match sharpness.

Your team looks OK, but I'd expect to see Agger start in place of Carragher, and there is no way Morgan will be leading the line - it'll be Suarez and Borini in place of Morgan and Pacheco. Though, this might be a good game to play Downing at LB if Rodgers is really serious in pursuing that, in which case Pacheco might get a run after all.

yeah looking forward to seeing the kid.

have heard that downing is starting left back aswell. seems like a decent low risk strategy in this game.

I'm not sure of that TBH. I guess it depends what the rest of the team looks like, but I hope we aren't underestimating Hearts. You see, I need us to be in the Europa League proper. Imagine having to go a WHOLE week between games, and then not being able to find a good stream because we have a 3pm Saturday kickoff like every man and his dog. Nope, give me a long drawn out European comp with games at 2am every second Friday morning and really good streams for the late Sunday night kick off because there are no other games on.

Thats the team? Surprised not to see Agger on there, Downing at LB isn't a surprise. It'll be interesting to see Gerrard on the right (presumably), something I wasn't sure would happen. Perhaps Rodgers has been reading newkit afterall?

Looks like it. Downing at leftback is a very very interesting proposition. Let's see how he performs.
