Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez could be preparing to offload Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher this summer.

The Mail on Sunday are reporting that should Tom Hicks complete his takeover of the club then Benitez will seek to take total control of the playing squad.

Gerrard and Carragher have been pretty much undroppable for the last 6 seasons but Benitez is now starting to bring through his own star players and could be tempted to ship out the home grown stars as he aims to regain full control over the squad.

The Scouse duo have been very influential at the club for some time now, but with Benitez bringing in the likes of Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano, he could take this opportunity to cash in on both Gerrard and Carragher as he aims to rebuild the squad to challenge for the title.

WTF? ???

If Rafa has strained relations with the owners, the Chief Executive and the club captain, can they all be wrong and he be right? And can Rafa really remain as manager beyond this season considering that he has issues with the most important people at the club?

Is it me or do the sunday papers hire college geeks to fill in the spaces?

Well if Benitez plans to build a side capable of challenging he's gonna need to keep Gerrard and Carra, so the entire article is bollox in my opinion.

So it wouldn't surprise if it was true, considering what else has been wrote about this club this season.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Unfounded speculation.

It's like saying "If Rafa takes control of his squad, he could shave Peter Crouch bald"

It's possible, but at this moment there's nothing to suggest such a thing will occur.

Heres a better rumour :-

The Premier League have made an approach for Rick Parry.

Sources at the Premier League claim Liverpool Chief Executive Rick Parry has been sounded about about replacing the unpopular Richard Scudamore says today's People newspaper.

Scudamore's position has been shaky since his plans for a 39th Premiership game to be played abroad were criticised by almost everyone involved in football.

Rick Parry was the Premier League's chief executive at it's foundation in 1993 and could favour a return to his old job although it is said he wants to secure Liverpool's future first.

Parry will go on loan from Liverpool to the Premier League for 18 months.

They can make the deal permanent for a fee of 10p and a bag of fizzy cola bottles.

Liverpool have had more disruptive rumours, speculation and scandle in the last 12 months than in the preceeding 40 years.

The hallowed cathedral of British and european football is becoming tarnished, we´re becoming the willing target of the tabloids.
