Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

80% probably don't want G&H at the club, it doesn't mean they'll all resort open protests.

Why not? With that numbers, a protest would be near impossible to ignore.

Rafa hasn't been getting a hero's worship, it's just a simple fact that he was sh@t on by Hicks and Gillett, and in that respect you have to support him.

I've already criticised the Klinsmann approach.

As for Rafa, he was getting cheered during the Villa game.

We dominate and BOOM Villa score....then BOOM Villa score again.

Then Crouch (the nearly forgotten man) rescues us.

1) I think you're missing the point, which is, just because 80% of supporters would rather not have G&H as our owners, doesn't mean that corresponding 80% will protest.

2) What's wrong with Rafa getting support from the fans?

And if they pumped enough which resulted in us winning the leauge what then would you say?

Where is this 80%?

At the Villa game, there were a few with banners and little else.

don't play down things mate...

what G&H did was just plain wrong and despicable and that's it... even an OOT knows this...

I have to play things down, because the 80% figure does not seem to be backed up with evidence come matchdays.

Where I will criticise G/H is the fact they'd placed debt on the club, but I'm not convinced Rafa deserves the hero worship he's been getting recently.

NO no not 80% dont want G&H at the club
the poll said " would you concider withdrawing financial support.
80 % answered a big YES to that question

That will only hurt the club and cause more problems.

The correct course of action now is a united front and support for the club and players.

1) There are numerous supporters who'd rather not have G&H as our owners, some will act and protest, some will not. That's just the way it is. Some won't because they believe it's not the done thing, some because they believe it would do the club more harm than good overall. The 80% figure may well be correct, it's just that it varies from person to person. Some dislike them significantly more than others.

2) I don't see what that has to do with it, as supporters we should support the manager and team in times of turmoil. Rafa will always do his best, at the very least you should be able to deduce that from his time with us. If his best isn't good enough in your opinion, maybe you think we should be looking for a new manager.

1- Then it's a misleading figure isn't it? It might be 80 per cent who are unhappy in some way, but certainly not 80 per cent who are willing to boycott and protest. In that case, I would argue that the ACTUAL active opposition to G/H could very well be a fringe element only.

2- If his best cannot bring us closer to the title and at least bring us Champions League qualification and reasonable progress, then yes we may have to look at other managerial options.

Most would consider it as a realistic course of action, whether they would act upon that is an entirely different question.

In what capacity would that 80% reduce their financial input into the club?

That could mean anything from buying one less item of merchandise a year, to boycotting every game, and ceasing future purchases of all merchandise.

1) No, not misleading. Most people would at least consider it, therefore, most are unhappy with G&H.

2) Ok.
