I'm afraid I can't agree unless something else transpires. I doubt that the takeover will go through now at least until the hearing in Texas on 25th. Sure it's in another country but even so. One has to wonder whether NESV will withdraw if they fear they are being sued over this. Perhaps Broughton and his legal advisors were already aware of this. Maybe a settlement will be reached out of court if the takeover does go through.

I thought it was a UK Ltd company which holds the loan, in any case the asset is based in England and therefore falls under English law.

If it was presented to the board, ofcourse he would have considered it. There would be official minutes recorded against this.

It's not like MB can hide any of this ... provided it was indeed presented to the board and not to Hicks riding on his pony on some lawn in yeeeehaaaaa country ...

Why reject a higher offer even if Broughton knew it would ensure the owners would be gone? Saying that though they'd have come back saying it still wasn't high enough and another bid had been made giving them more. Whatever Broughton had done Hicks wouldn't have accepted it. The man is like a wild animal out of control. How did we ever end up with this monster owning LFC? Aren't the real culprits here Moores and Parry for not being diligent three years ago? Maybe they should be the ones facing a lawsuit from LFC fans for helping to nearly destroy our club.

We have to be careful about US juristiction. The last UK government made it easier for UK nationals to be prosecuted and extradited to US. Look what happened to those Nat West bankers that are doing time in the US.

This has just come off one of the broadsheets-

Texan courts don't even have jurisdiction over happenings in other states," says Jonathan Kaszynski. "This injunction is a vindictive act, hoping to cause the board and supporters of Liverpool Football Club as much trouble as possible. This has no chance in hell of seeing the light of day in court."

"I am currently warming down from a rather intense tennis match," says Phil Wainwright. "I declare the Liverpool sale valid. I take it the court I'm playing on has as much jurisdiction as the Texan one?"

"Can't the Premier League revoke H&G's status as 'fit and proper persons'?" asks K. Phillip Harrison. "I realise I risk being named in a Texan lawsuit for suggesting this (but I am ready to counter-sue in the district court of Matale, Sri Lanka where I have Friends)."

And lastly, here's David Penfold. "I looked at the photo and thought those Liverpool chaps have got one rubbish bodyguard."

Not sure what power a district court in the US could have over the highest court in the UK.

Anyone know anything about international law?
