Liverpool's American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have finalised the £350m refinancing deal to secure their immediate future at Anfield.

The financial package is expected to help the duo repay money borrowed for their £218.9m takeover in March 2007.

It also means that the club can finally launch their long-awaited plan for a new stadium at Stanley Park.

BBC sports editor Mihir Bose said £60m of the package will provide the start-up money for the new ground.

The deal, which is expected to be announced on Friday, is seen as a reaffirmation of Hicks's determination to remain at Anfield along with co-owner Gillett, despite interest from Dubai International Capital (DIC).

Hicks will also feel he will be in a stronger position should he decide to sell in the future, dealing a blow to DIC's hopes of mounting a swift bid to take control at Anfield.

The American pair were the target of crowd demonstrations from Liverpool supporters unhappy with their regime during Monday's televised game against Aston Villa, with banners calling for DIC to mount a bid.

But Hicks, in particular, remained defiant in the face of protests and insisted he had no intention of selling his 50% share in the club.

I'm not going to pay one dime more to the club until these two asshats are gone. They will will get the message eventually when more people do it. I today cancelled my liverpoolfc.tv membership and my sport channel subscription.

the club will not be making any money and the loss will be so big no one would even look at buying the club......and we end up like LEEDS.

wrong, the loan is on the club. what would happen is the club would pass into the hands of the administrators, after the administrators sell bit of the club off to anyone they would then look for a buyer (just look at Luton).

Wrong G&H would not let it pass to administrators they would sell up like a shot while they could still make money on us . Come on lakes think about it mate put yourself in G&H position the club would not go into admin it would be sold most likely to DIC  cos they know once G&H have gone normal service will be resumed and we will turn the money tap back on

sorry mate it dont worlk like that, you see if it started to look like they could not pay the loan off the Bank can step in at anytime. thats is the law (as the loan from the bank is for the club then the Bank sort of own the club, so if any looks out of order the bank just take the club, its the law, bit like how some the thier home taken bank).

you conpare the situation to having your home reposesed by the banks. well the banks cant come straight in and take your home the minute say for example you became unemployed and your income stoped NO, they have to wait until you miss  X amount of morgage payments. Well G&H wont let it go that far the minute the cash stops coming in they would sell up

if the cash stops coming in and they sell the club then they would need to sell it for the same amout that is left to pay off on the loan. The club needs to be fluid (money coming in) for it to be sold when there is a loan on it.

as i said the loan is on the club, if G&H can not pay off the loan the bank casn take the club and then sell it  (LUTON).

the money they are using for our club will all be the banks money......and its on LOAN.

true if the cash stopped coming in they would need to sell for the same amount as the loan AGREED (but) DIC would be willing to more than pay that amount because!! we don't need to have money coming in our assets cover more than that AND like i said DIC know the withdrawing of our cash as supporters is only temporary while G&H are here

lol i do understand what you are saying but its still a loan, yes you are right the bank can not do anything untill they miss a payment.......or stop paying its employees.

but if they looked like missing payments when they try to sell the club and have to show the book to the new bidders the club would not be solvent. they would be offerd about £150m in that case.

someone said to me today that gillette tried to buy aston villa before he tried to buy us but ellis knocked him back because he wouldnt have all the debt put against the club (villa).

Well Sunderland are owned by Quinn, unlikely he will sell and Mike Ashley is a Newcastle fan and he wont sell up, so that leaves Middlesbrough. I dont think so, they could have a bigger club than that.

I just think its the BBC making up these rumours, I mean FFS the story was only broke 15 minutes ago and already they are telling us they wont bid for the club and they are after another.

I think fan power will eventually prevail, and I do think DIC will eventually own LFC. They remained interested for over a year, I think they will wait.
