We have to be realistic no matter how much frustration there is.

First priority is to change the owners.
Second is to consider Benetiz´s position. The club cant handle 2 changes of ownership and a new manager in a 12 month period.

New owners would be nice.  New Manager is a must. Get rid of all the mediocre players but also the Manager that signed them.

1. yeah, klinnsman has done nothing, i agree, but his name is big in football, and even the yanks have heard of him

The owner thing is just deflecting from a poor underachieving manager.

The DIC deal is still in the air despite what the papers are saying.

If it doesn't go through then G&H could be stuck with us and we would be stuck with them.

A nightmare situation brought about by Moores and Parry not showing due diligence in the sale. Anyone with a PC could have done a search on G&H prior to the sale and realised their track record in the States shows them as glorified asset strippers who NEVER risk their own money. Mind you I never saw Big Bucks Moore risking more than his liver in the Directors Lounge.

Is'nt Rafa responsible for bringing in the mediocre players in the first place, what make you think he can offload them and get the right players in and not just another load of mediocrity.

I'd still say what I've thought all season - give him another year after this one but with an ultimatum in the summer that if things don't get a lot better NEXT season (2008-9) then he'll be on his bike the following year.

That said, I'm starting to look forward to next season with more trepidation than anticipation at the moment.

What I DON'T get is how far Rafa managed to take us, then he got a hefty injection of cash in the summer (I don't care what anyone says, picking up Torres and Babel - two of the hottest young strikers in the world - is a massive step forward on anything we've been signing for years, not to mention Benayoun and Lucas) and suddenly things have gone the other way. OK, there's been the debacle of the Yanks all year but even so, I had the impression that Rafa was the kinda guy who could stand on his own two feet and not give a what was going on around him. Maybe he's more sensitive than he appears?

The cup run has been nothing short of dismal and we've flopped badly in the league, and the football we're playing at the moment is mostly pretty poor - but we all KNOW what we're capable of with Rafa in charge and you just don't 'lose' that tactical brilliance overnight. We'll pick up - but I wish it was sooner rather than later.

I find it quite laughable that people assume Rafa knows what players are not good enough and this will all be sold and replaced with superior players.  Rafa signed this players and believes they have the quality required to play for this club.  To think he will just manage to offload them and suddenly pick better players is just dreaming.  This year he believed he had a squad capable of challenging on all fronts.

Even when it comes to a mediocre player, Sissoko, he has sold more expensive than bought. Let alone Agger, probably a reference CB in top european football in Europe.

He'd sell more expensive than bought Alonso and Reina too. He had some eye to spot a player that didn't count on West Ham, Mascherano. No doubt some journo-fúckwit-pundit was writting about Mascherano that "he hasn't adapted to the pace and rythm of the premiership" back then. But here we go.

Ok, of course, then you have Kuyt who's been a failure. But I don't know how now Rafa can be denied the players in which he got it right.

I dont think you can overlook O'Neill, He has done some great things in the past and has also said that he would have taken the liverpool job last time if he been asked to.

The tactical brilliance which blew the Champions League final last year and instead of taking responsibility Rafa blames it on a lack of funds.

O'Neil is a very talented guy.  His motivation skills are as good as anyone.  He really knows how to get players playing for him.

Kenny is a sentimental choice - I think our slide started in his reign, anyway he's been out of the game too long.

Rafa has spent big - forget talk of £20m per year - he has spent a fortune. Okay, not as much as Chelsea .

Jose has an aura of a winner, all the chelsea players who won nothing under Ranieri (Lampard, duff, Terry etc) said that Jose made them feel like second place in the league is failure. He didn't do the pathetic rotation cr*p that Benitez does.

Here's a question for those asking for Mourinho:

Do you think he can win us the Premiership if he only gets £20m-£30m total to spend?

You could say that Rafa has done nothing for the club if you take on board stuff said by players that have now left the club.

Look at the year we won the CL, we ended up 5th in the prem and out of the fa cup.
we got into the final by a goal that never was and at half time in the final we was 3-0 down.

Hamann still feels that us coming back and winning the CL had nothing to do with Rafa, he says it was down to two of our players picking the team up at half time, the two players being Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard.
he said they gave the team belief that that could turn it around when Rafa was just standing there saying nothing.
