After some weeks showing they're good guys, the permanent ban is forgiven :D

Dont let that out of the bag otherwise you will deny pleasure to those who love jumping on mock indignation wagon and picket lines rallying against oppressive mods and internet forum stormtrooper tactics    :D

Should have a sin bin, yellow card is a day's ban, second card is a week, third is a month, fourth is three months and fifth is permanent. Cards disappear after the time period of the ban for the next card has expired, ie a yellow card is cleared after a week, two cards after a month etc

Of course mods don't apply the rules with any consistency :no so the above system wouldn't really work as some on here abuse several times in one thread and don't see so much as a card. They also apply no consistency whatsoever in closing threads. EDIT : I see having posted that they finally listened to my initial reaction to the "It's Roy" thread and closed the thing, should have been deleted straight away for several reasons, not least it was pointless

A little mischief making on "In and Out's" behalf there I think ...... For the record i live and work in Merseyside but as you say whats that got to do with it ?

All i was saying is that IF (and it's a big if I know) we keep Stevie and Torres) we will have a serious chance of finishing in the Top4 thats all........

Reina , Carra, Agger, Johnson, Aqualanni, Skirtel, Masca, Lucas aren't relegation fodder and with the right players brought in (Albeit budget ones) I believe Roy can get us challenging.

For those who have been around a few years will know we have FAR WORSE teams than this one and still were able to compete and I'm not talking Pre-Premiership !

In 2005 we fielded Biscan and Smicer in the centre of Midfield during our CL run and won 1-0 at Deportivo !

I remember when Baros and Cisse led the line and Cheyrou was the next Zidane ! :D

It's easy to fall for the old platitudes of "Keep the Faith" , Walk On ..etc....at times like this but it's equally naive to think because we are in such a mess it's going to continue in the same vane and we are all doomed !

I'm no major authority on Liverpool Football Club just a fan who cares deeply about the club and someone who has watched us many many times upset the form book and surprise the world of football.

In Roy we just might have a manager who keeps the main thing the main thing and manages the players and let the suits sort out the rest.........

Walk On :)

hello Daggers ..... and your quite right it matters not one jot where your from as long as you are steeped in the knowledge which makes Liverpool fans so irrepressible and retain the one trait that  sets us apart from all others our patience and predominantly the  honesty in admitting when our judgements have been rash and ill conceived .....  not forgetting our humour and with the current predicament our great club currently finds itself in this is the one thing that sees us through the storm .....

I have an alter ego. Unfortunately the Kharhaz one doesnt have much of a life....  :D

we can win the league if :

1)We keep both gerrard and torres (and pray that they are fit for most of the season)
2)Sign joe cole
3)Sign Loïc Rémy

Have heard  from a lad on the rattle that Roy is going to be playing 3 5 2 this year . All the academy teams from under14's up have been told to employ the system aswell.

Interesting, wonder who the five will be in Midfield and if it will be a more attacking or more defensive midfield set up

Well dunny lad , if we sign cole and if we keep Gerrard and torres i can only see it going one way and that is forawrd mate . The only thing that i see as a problem is the left wingback position . We have just sold a lad who would have been ideal in that position in insua imo of course.

Well I like Roy but I aren't a fan of 3-5-2. I have always felt it's too easy to play in behind your wing backs and pin them back so you end up playing 5-3-2 in reality, getting outnumbered in midfield and your front two get isolated. Insua wasn't good for the role Igor mate in my opinion anyway, too one paced to get up and down. In many respects it might explain why the manager moved him on, to play as a wing back you really do need the gears. Although I like Insua he is very one paced.

Think you might be right there Mick , not saying this is gospel like .It's only what someone else has said . Anyway if Roy is going to be looking at a smaller squad ,then playing 352 will give him a bit more flexablitity in utilising that squad i reckon .

I seriously doubt it... We dont have the personnel to put it simply..

Centerbacks : Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Geek, Kelly ..
Pretty thin in that area given Kelly's lack of experience.. Will need to sign 1 more to play 3 imo...

Wingbacks: Johnson, Degen...
No left wingbacks.. We'll need to sign 2 attacking wingbacks which will probably cost more than finding say 2 solid fullbacks.

CMs: Lucas, Mascherano, Gerrard, Aquilani...
Regardless of what anyone says, with the players we have playing that position it will always be hard finding the balance unless Gerrard is pushed back a little.. Still thin in that area if we're going to play 3

Forwards: Torres, Ngog, Kuyt, Jovanovic...
Both Kuyt and Ngog dont provide enough... Add the facts that Torres is injury-prone and that Jovanovic is unproven in the PL and you find that we need to sign atleast one more top class forward if we are to play 2 upfront...

THE MAJOR ISSUE HOWEVER seems to be the other players in the squad who will find it hard to get a game with such a formation... Maxi, Babel, Riera, Kuyt, Jovanovic...all big players who would be pretty much useless for such a formation... We should be playing to our strengths when everyone is fit and ready...
4-5-1 or failing that we go for a 4-4-2... 3-5-2 just doesnt work anymore unless you're a national side with talented players who can make it work...
