I've got a really Nasty feeling that the other crew up the East Lancs will be walking away with number 19 ... honestly hope I am wide of the mark on this ... but its just the kind of backs against the wall scenario Taggart thrives on (something to prove ) I pray I am wrong but Liverpool cant afford to be out of the possible contenders party  for long ......  Man city will be brilliant to watch  especially if they manage to retain Tevez  but nothing more than top 3 in my opinion I personally don't hold much hope for Mancini seeing Christmas out ... not a brilliant organizer in that respect

They won't, trust me. No cohesion, not enough (top) quality and sides like Chelsea and the mancs have been there and done it, experienced the pressure that comes with winning a title - or challenging for it. Citeh haven't even coped with the pressure of finishing fourth ffs

I did read an "interesting" comment on s*y teletext suggesting the Premiership isn't about £££, it is about the side that works hard, gels as a team and all that baloni. WRONG. If that were the case then a side like Stoke or Bolton could win the league, what the top sides have in common is the ability to buy players for TWICE or more what the other sides can afford. Who wins the title from those rich enough is decided by the factors that texter mentioned. Arsenal are the only side not to be champions without being big(gest) spenders

I also think City will not win the title for the same reasons, but it's just delaying the inevitable. In a few years they will win the title

After our first game against Arsenal I will be able to deliver a much more concise view as in regards to where we will finish ... Instead of basing it around the flimsy evidence Pre- Season will provide Anything else would be just silly ,so lets just wait and see if it is indeed Hodgson's Harriers or Hodgson's Holidays

I've said fourth. I don't see any standout teams this year. I think Spurs will go thru to the group stages, and that should benefit us. Not convinced Man City will pull it together this year. Chelsea are still too old. Arsenal are still too young. Man Utd will be strong, but nothing anyone in the league need fear.

I wouldn't be surprised if we finished 5th, but last years 7th was an abberation. So fourth.

I predict 6th, unlike Benitez i think with Hodgson we'll have more of an attacking mentality against the smaller teams and we should finish them off rather than scoring and then bringing on a defender. But i think against Chelsea, Manure and Spurs we will suffer.

The average age of their starting 11 is around 28 which is an excellent age imo... The 3 players in their starting 11 who are 30+ (Drogba, Anelka, Lampard) aare arguably playing the best football of their career so no reason to suggest age is much of a concern for them this season... They have the strongest starting 11 and should be winning the league yet again unless Ancelotti fcks ups ..

Arsenal have a good squad and despite their age, most of their younger players have plenty of experience.. what they lack more than anything is physical presence in certain areas... Their goalkeeper is another problem..
