With the manc game looking to be growingly cruical in our possible title challenge, and coming up in the middle of our next 10 league games, how many points do you think we'll manage from those 10 games?

Next 10 league games (corresponding 07/08 results in brackets)

Portsmouth (a) D0-0
Man City (h) W1-0
Middlesboro (a) D1-1
Sunderland (h) W3-0
MAN UTD (a) L0-3
Aston Villa (h) D2-2
Fulham (a) W2-0
Blackburn (h) W3-1
Hull (a) n/a
Newcastle (h) W3-0

07/08 P9 W5 D3 L1 PTS 18 (out of 27)

A win at old trafford may become crucial, simply because it knocks a large chunk out of their lead without relying on them dropping points against others. We both have to play Arsenal at home, the only other 'big four' clash both sides face is the head to head at old trafford and since 'big four' are the only sides to beat the mancs so far this season, it could be ominous - especially as they've only drawn five times in the league - Tottenham away (14th), Chelsea (3rd), Bitters (6th), Aston Villa (4th) and Newcastle (15th)

Of course the mancs away would have to be a 12.45pm Saturday lunchtime kick-off AFTER the 2nd leg of our CL tie against Real Madrid. We do get 24 hours extra recovery time mind, but Rafa's resolve re priorities may be tested.

The statistic of us not winning in the Premiership in January you may have heard, however we didn't play on a Sunday in that month and our previous win in the Premiership was also a Sunday - our best win of the season

Sunday Bloody (Good) Sunday

01/02/09 Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
28/12/08 Newcastle 1-5 Liverpool
21/12/08 Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool
26/10/08 Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
05/10/08 Man City 2-3 Liverpool
31/08/08 A Villa 0-0 Liverpool

P6 W4 D2 L0 F12 A4 PTS 14 (Clean Sheets x3)

f in Sultana sports, f off Sultana sports  :veryangry That said we beat the mancs on a Saturday so here's to a repeat. That's a pretty good record considering five of the six Sunday league games were away.

I would be looking for 24 points from those games, most of them should on paper be comfortable wins, but as we all know football is played on grass not paper, so I think a result at the mancs and a couple of draws or a loss against the mancs and a draw against Villa.

Depends of course on which Liverpool team turns up ....... the one that played Chelsea or the one that managed to drop so many points when we expected wins.

I can see us taking 20 points from the next 10 games.. I seriously think we'll win at Old Trafford but mess up the week after against Villa.

I´d like to say 30 but thats daft. Instead I dont think we´ll lose in the next 10 games, we just wont win them:

Portsmouth (a) 3pts
Man City (h)    3pts
Middlesboro (a) 1pt
Sunderland (h)  1pt
MAN UTD (a)    3pts
Aston Villa (h)   1pt
Fulham (a)       3pts
Blackburn (h)    3pts
Hull (a)            3pts
Newcastle (h)   1pt

Total 22 points.  Of course we'll scréw up the easy games and get 3 points from the big ones, thats the way we are......

I often read that thing, "you never know which Liverpool team is going to turn up" and unfortunately it's true. Equally unfortunately in our case, it's true both literally and mataphorically. Are you going to be staring down the gunbarrel at Alonso, or Lucas? Are you going to be facing Kuyt up top or Torres?

It's no coincidence that we didn't beat Wigan, but we did beat Chelsea. We are somewhat limiting our scope for messing about by selling off two squad players during the window (just about the only good part about it from what I can see), but I still think we'll see some bizarre selections what with Real Madrid (of all teams) looming on the horizon.

If Torres stays fit and reproduces the form of yesteryear there's no reason we can't win all of them games, I reckon we'll get 27 points from those 10. We've never been in such a good position, now we must push on a make a strong push towards being champions

We can take maximum points from all if we wanted to but Utd will be the big one.

If we are going to win, we need 26+ points. No argument. I think the Kop could win 6 of them.

Will we get; it dont know...

Are we good enough?  Yes we are.

Lets do it!

Who really knows with this Liverpool team, if we play like we did on sunday we could win all 10 if we perform like we have the majority of this season we could get 18/30. I voted for 20-22, because im sure there will be some dropped points along the way, maybe against Boro or Fulham which are bogey grounds for us in recent years, and there will probably be a home draw in there some where.

If I'm honest, and I usually am, at the end of that 10 game period I don't think we will be contenders for the title. It's very hard to look 10 games in advance because being an anti-rotationer, I always argue that one game leads to and has an impact on the next. For example if we were to go to Man Utd and win 2-0, we've got significantly more chance of beating Villa at Home in the next match than we have if we lose.

On the face of it we ought to beat Portsmouth, but I can smell a ridiculous selection there. I don't know why (although Fratton Park does have history for Rafa) but I can just see it coming. As it is, now we've sold Keane it is even more important that Torres gets a rest now and then. Strangely, you could even have argued that it was worth keeping Keane just so we could play Torres more often. Now, we have to be sooo kid glove with him, it will probably mean more rests. Anyway, I've a feeling we'll win there despite the rotation.

Man City at Home will be tricky and I think we'll draw, before making up for it a bit with a win for a change at the Riverside. Sunderland at Home ought to be easy, and I think it willbe. We then g to Old Trafford, and from there we'll see.

20-22 points what head says. For the title push we need to hit atleast 26-28.. Just seems a little difficult IMO.. We need more attacking players. Torres gets heavily marked at times and finds it hard to link with a player. Our mids seems too ultra defensive. Kuyt tends to play a little deep at times. Only recognised attacker is riera and gerrard.
