Anydody have any idea who they might have been ?.

Hmmm, intriguing.  :D

I heard the interview, but I can't remember exactly what was said.

I'm pretty certain he was referring to defenders, although I thought he actually said one was '14 million Euro's' - which would seem more realistic, as opposed to 40.

(14m Euros is approx £10.5m sterling).

I think he alluded to three players, one was probably Garay, I'm not sure about the others.

Maybe I was thrown by Rafa's pronunciation, 14 rather than 40 would make much more sense.

I must say I am excited about this deal. I thought we got a steal in Agger at six million and I think that Skrtel will be no different. He is big, strong, fast and exactly what we need in a defender. He may not be as expensive as Ferdinand was but he may well be just as good in a couple of years (I know different kind of player). From what I understand Skrtel is as good as Agger on the ball but with Jamie's heart. I think he will do just fine  :nod

First of all i have no problems with us buying Martin Skrtel but for me we should have got a striker first.

Going buy the teams Rafa has picked over the last year he should sell......

Voronin

Kuyt

Crouch

SISSOKO

EL ZHAR

With the money from the deals we could get a top world class striker. I think we have one in Crouch but the Manager dont think so.

i would prefer it if sami stays on... it's always better to have experience defenders like sami and carra go learn from... agger and this guy will benefit alot...

I thought Sami was dead and buried 2 seasons ago already and although the pace is a problem...he has never let us down. He's the type of player that Liverpool need in their ranks somewhere and I hope that they are smart enough to hold onto him as a coach.

I had never heard of him before we became interested, but I am very pleased that he has been described as "lightning fast", "has great pace", "good pace" in some of the articles I have read about him. Hopefully we may get to play with a higher line when Martin plays.

Wrong

We needed a Centre Half before we get a striker. Agger and Hyypia have both been injured of late and we had too play Arbeloa as a Centre Half. OK, you may argue that Hyypia and Agger are now fit but, as is a distinct possibility when returning from injury (more so in these cold conditions we're in), that either/or both may pick up wee niggles here and there.

Also, Carra will need a break soon. He'll get one after his next yellow mind!!

I can see Skrtel playing sooner rather than later and will look forward too seeing him play in a Liverpool shirt.

Welcome Mr Skrtel.

Surely we have not paid £7million for someone who's contract is up in a couple of weeks? I know it says that on your link mate but............? ? ?

His contract would have been up in December coming, so he had 1 year left on his contract at Zenit.
