While many were surprised to see Martin at right back, I wasnt.U shuld hve learnt it by now that Rafa is a master when it comes to weird decisions...The man has had his time and he should go.He is now left with 1 excuse that Torres has not been fit as if we are the only team with injury problems...

It was officially insane imo. Downing must have been rubbing his hands.

I dont want to see us play four in defence with a centre half playing as the right back ever again and hopefully Rafa will go 3-5-2 tonight like he should have done against Boro.

Is it that you guys did not see the manager's quote above, or that its more convenient to ignore it?
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

If carra couldn't play there then Darby should have - he is afterall a right back.

And even after the original selection, it was obvious to a blind man that it wasn't working - so it could have been solved quite easily, but it was left....

Exactly. Square pegs, round holes. That Carra was tired should probably have indicated resting him, not playing someone else out of position. Putting Sami and Skrtel at CB, Darby at RB and Aurelio at LB would have made more sense. Sacrificed a bit of experience, but it made no sense to play a tired CB and another CB out of position.

EDIT : the last point about changing it sums Rafa up. He doesn't make early changes, even when needed. 2/3 of the game passes him by before he reacts most times. Recognising something isn't working and rectifying it is as vital a skill as any once the team takes to the field. Not sure it would have made any difference, but we'll never know

Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
