I have slagged him off before because of his previous performances but he was outstanding yesterday

he had potential when he first came on the scene under kenny. had he of gotten more games last season then he would be more than reliable cover now. delighted for the lad after the arsenal game. he was much better yesterday and deserves more time on the pitch to improve as a player.

I really don't believe the lads upto it if I'm honest. He reminds me of a slightly more composed but not quite as good defensively Tony Hibbert type.

But if it came to a straight choice between him and Cissokho... its a no brainer for me.

Cissokho all day...

He played well in most aspects, he has to get better at one-on-ones though.  It looked like he was standing in quicksand at times.  It looks like he knows what the manager wants out of that position though, good to see him given the opportunity.

to be fair to him he`s a natural right back playing on the left side so it may take him a while to get used to defending those one on one situations, everything will be reversed for him and he will be tackling and blocking crosses a lot more with his `wrong foot`, especially if someone goes down the line.
but with enrique being out until next feb/march and us not having many options at LB i`m sure they will be working on that with him in training.
he actually did okay against arsenal and played well on saturday so he may do a job for us out there on the left.

Great goal and his direct running kept Walker on the back foot all day ,getting better every game.....Never lost the belief that this kid will be as
good as any full back in the league given time.

took that goal very very well and could have had another if had of launched himself at the one that ran across the face of the goal. the look on his face was priceless when he scored and replicated by the king in the stand.
for me he has shown enough for us not to be rash and go looking for a L.B when this lad is clearly able to deputise in enrique's absence. :nod

Still stand by what I've said... he's performing well above himself at the minute...

However... long may it continue. Absolutely brilliant to see him score his first goal for us. Took it well and the teams reaction to the goal was immense.

The sort of incident that can give a squad a great togetherness.

Really am made up for him! :nod

It was just great to see us unified as a team ,the celebration they afforded young Johns superb goal was the proverbial icing mate.

i think we flanno and kelly in our defence, gerrard, suso, sterling in our mid.
we will have a strong homegrown core in the team, which i think important to a unity of a team.
