Sales are conducted with the minimum of fuss, with top dollar being recieved for any players going out of the door. Negotiations with existing players are not conducted in the media, Roy simply makes the right noises and plays it patient, even Masherano refusing to talk to him hasn't phased him it doesn't seem. Purchases are once again going ahead without the horses being disturbed. He straight bats press questions on how quickly deals are likely to happen with the old "I don't do the negotiating, Christian Purslow does" and simply gets on with things. The mediacal science team tell him he can't use World Cup players in the Europa Cup, so he says "OK then we'll use youngsters". "If we go out so be it, the league is our priority" he says. he doesn't bring coachloads of backroom staff with him, hangers on and yes men accrued over many years, coach drivers and kit men, nutritionists, scouts, acupuncturists and the rest of the nonsense some modern managers swear by. He comes in and says he wants all our backroom stalwarts to stay. He isn't threatened by Kenny still being around even though he knows Dalglish wanted his job, he isn't threatened by Sammy Lee staying, even though he was very close to the previous manager. Not only isn't he threatened, he WANTS them to stay.

How can anyone not be impressed by the way he's going about his business.

Hodgson still needs to impress on the pitch yet - results is what matters .

I actually think the kid is better than most on here give him credit for, but 5 mill is in my opinion good money for him. As for who sanctioned it, well almost certainly the previous manager will have been heavily involved in the early stages of the negotiations before he left. I've no doubt that if the offer had been made to buy Insua for 5 million quid while he was still at the club, he'd have taken it in a heartbeat. Much the same as he was involved in the Benayoun sale, and fair play to him that was a good deal too.

Right here is your post bigmick...
:D

No problem with that Magus and thanks for finding it. Like I say I am more than happy to give the previous manager due credit. My post (the one you quoted) was actually in response to somebody saying that the sales were Christie Clear-Outs. They weren't, the previous manager would have made clear he was happy to move them on at the right price, and the current one would have further sanctioned it. At least it's disproven the theory once and for all that I never give the previous manager any credit.

Sorry Fella, for me it was a pi55poor read!

Don't know why he chose us over spuds and gunners?

We are a bigger club than both of them.

We will have champions league football next season, Spuds & Gunners prob won't.

90k per week does indeed add upto 18/19mill but benayoun was on £60kplus

Just be glad we got a corker of a player, and remember your a Liverpool fan.

like most im delighted we got him.if he can recreate his form from a couple of seasons ago then he will be a massive player for us.
still puzzled as to why chelsea let him go in favour of benni, leads me to believe that maybe they know something we dont.
i hope we give him a proper going over in his medical.
personally i dont think he signed for the money but more the fact that we gave him a 4 year deal.
anyway he is a welcome addition to the team, pure class on his day and im really looking forward to seeing him score for us rather than against us.
welcome to liverpool lad:D

What a tedious response. Do you know what, I think a majority can read you clearly. You are one of those just waiting for Roy to fail so you can pounce with your "told ya so" speech.

You sound like a spoilt brat who cant have his lolly.

What is with that last sentence " Remember your a Liverpool Fan " sorry you will have to explain that to me .

As for us being in the CL next season and Spurs and Arsenal aren't - that's a pretty big statement to make - Spurs may well miss out to City but Arsenal have been in CL every single season despite being written off pretty much every season . Us getting back into CL is far from a done deal and is going to be a big task

Im sorry but you will have to explain to me why I want Hodgson to fail ? I have reservations about him but not once have I ever made any remark about wanting him to fail ! I'm not interested in " I told you so " I'm only interested in Liverpool being successful - so I would suggest you stop jumping to conclusions of which have no backing or substance . Hodgson is here to get us results and at the end of hue day hat is where he will be judged

Totally agree. that's why some of us went off the previous manager, it's all about results at the end of the day.

See what I mean about this forum ?! You have to put up with these kind of posts which add nothing to any debate but to abuse and insult people .
