He isn't credited enough for his ability.

The Carra/Hyypia partnership is in the same bracket as Hansen/Lawrenson for me.

beyond a legend and undoutedly a future manager. amazing to think that before rafa arrived he wasn't even a centre half for us. he played most of his football at fullback.

05-07 he was peerless. as good as anything in europe during that spell. yet he was constantly overlooked for england for the untouchable terry and ferdinand.

He has won every domestic and European trophy he has been involved in except a league title. Not bad for a scally from Bootle. A gentleman, a Liverpool legend and a future manager of LFC. Well in Carra!

100% agree with that.

It's a rare trait thats getting rarer by the year to have a player achieve over 700 games for one team.

Absolute legend. Hope we can find a role for him at the club.

Although its understandable if he wants a year or two out.

He will be impossible to replace and we'd do well to retain him within the club to remind the players what LFC are all about and what it means to represent us.

He never got the recognition he deserved for his football, instead tarred with the "100% player with limited ability" tag, whereas the likes of Ferdinand and Terry were hailed as some kind of footballing gods.  I wouldn't have swapped Carra for either at any point.

I wish him well in the future, and as I say would hope the club find him a suitable role should he want it.  Having said that seeing him as a pundit would be entertaining too.  It would be nice to have a pundit that doesn't talk in cliches and toe the Sky line.

there`s a great story about carragher in todays pink echo, tommy smith mentions in his column that after he had his heart attack in 2007 he was sitting at home recovering when he heard a knock at the door, his wife opened it and there was jamie carragher.
carragher told tommy and his wife not to fuss but to sit down, he then went to the kitchen and a couple of minutes later came in with 3 cups of tea, the 3 of them then sat down and had a gab.
while they were chatting jamie asked tommy what happened when he had the heart attack and tommy told him that it happened when he was trying to mow the lawn, tommy joked thats why the grass in his garden was a bit long, the next minute carragher gets up, takes his jacket off, goes into the garden, finds tommy`s lawnmower and mows tommys lawn for him.
this was a fella who in 2007 was probably the best defender in the prem and had played in 2 of the previous 3 CL finals.

Captains performance yesterday ,barking out orders all game, and gave young Oliver the kind of berating he probably thought he'd left behind
officiating Sunday league games. We definitely need a similar defender who can command the same sort of attention..Carragher will definitely
be missed .

such a shame he didn't get that goal...was so close and one of the best shots i've seen from him!

Legend doesn't even cover it....

I can't wait for the day when Carra comes back as a manager. Anyway, 700+ games for Liverpool - 700+ for any team today heck, what a loyal player, what a legend.
