I have to agree.

'Though it will be nice to see some football for a change.

(Even if England don't win it - which they won't).

Yeah, me too.....

Couldn't be ar$ed bout the WC either. Donno why as I always did in the past. Find that I'm more worried and anxious every day theres no news bout LFC signing the winger and striker we need...

sorry, got off topic for a minute there.

Thought Carra did ok in the holding role though.
Don't know why he's the 3rd or 4th choice CB in th England setup.
No way should he be behind Ferdinand and Campbell in the pecking order! As an out and out CB, he's heaps better than those 2 clowns right now.

TBH I am really looking forward to the World cup, but because of all the games - not particularly England.
I've said before that it's club before country for me, and that I can't bring myself to cheer for c*nts like Neville, Fat Frank, Spooney and J. Cole, etc.

I can't wait to watch some of Spain's games imparticular (For Alonso, Reina, Luis, and also David Villa). They have an awesome squad this year, and I wouldn't bet against them bucking their trend of disappointing tournaments.

Sh!te.....

I just posted this yesterday and would you believe it.. I caught the bug today and I'm starting to burn in anticipation....

Couple of mates and I were talking bout it and the old feeling of excitement came back.

Donno what was wrong with me yesterday.
Must be work pressure related or something daft like that..

GO the 3 LIONS!!!

I know this is meant to be a thread about Cara, but I just wanted to add something to the world cup thoughts by saying that England have done really well in the friendlies:

Crouch has come into his own and I think the boys have been working well together, for what it's worth.

(So, I may have been a little bit hasty in my other post!)

You have got to love Fowler. Heart on his sleeve or what? And the guy has a point as well.

From lfc.tv...

FOWLER: CARRA SHOULD BE FIRST CHOICE

Steve Hunter 07 June 2006

Anfield goal machine Robbie Fowler believes Jamie Carragher should be one of the first names on an England team-sheet and said it mystifies him why he isn't.

The Reds scoring legend doesn't feel Carragher gets the credit he deserves at international level and feels he is one of the most consistent and reliable centre halves around.

"Watching England's final warm-up match against Jamaica last Saturday, I was left speechless during one part of John Motson's commentary," revealed Fowler.

"As he was talking to Mark Lawrenson about England's possible starting line-up against Paraguay, Motty suggested that the 11 who began against Jamaica would do so in Frankfurt this weekend.

"Suddenly, though, he seemed flustered and felt the need to correct himself. Sorry, he said. Gary Neville will come back in for Jamie Carragher at right-back, obviously.

"Obviously what? Carra has played in England's last three matches in three different positions and could not have been more impressive.

"I thought he was excellent in the holding role against Hungary but what more does he have to do to get credit from the so-called experts?

"Some people have often wondered whether Carra offers enough going forward, but unless my eyes were deceiving me, I'm pretty sure I saw him surge into the box and deliver a perfect cross for Peter Crouch to score his second.

"Play him as a right-back, central defender or central midfielder and he'll never let you down, but to suggest Neville should walk straight back into the team is at best grossly unfair and at worst, patronising.

"Football is all about having the ability to take your chances and there is nothing more certain to weaken a squad than lack of competition for places.

"When a player knows no matter how well he does that he will be dropped, there is nothing more demoralising.

"Take it from me, I must be the only player in history who has been dropped after scoring a hat-trick - twice!

"I read one column the other week that indicated he was happy just to be part of the squad. Rubbish. The reason Carra gives 100 per cent in every training session is because he is desperate to play.

"He will hate being stuck in a hotel room uncertain about whether he will play or not. In my opinion, he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

"I know for a fact the Italians and the Spaniards can't believe Carra isn't first choice at centre-half. We all think that at Melwood, too. Earlier this season, even the legendary Franco Baresi named Carra alongside John Terry as two of the best defenders in the world.

"Having seen the heroics Carra performed in helping Liverpool win the European Cup, the AC Milan legend is hardly a bad judge, is he?

"You'd be hard pressed to find four better defenders than Carra in the world. He must be given the platform his talents deserve."

And, the lad can write a bit as well (assuming it's not ghost-written  :D )!  I'll look forward to his commentary on the WC.

Well in, Robbie!  :buttrock

I agree with Robbie! he is absolutely spot on!

You can't find a defender who is more consistant and versitile than King Carra.

Carragher can play that role against average sides.  However against v good sides where space and time is limitied and posession is vital I fell Carra would struggle.  Ledley King v Argentina got exposed badly.

Carragher is a better defender than Ferdinand.  Only problem with Carra and Terry is: Lack of pace.

although i would prefer another liverpool player in the england squad i dont think carragher is the best player for the holding position so in my opinion carrick should be ahead of carragher.
the only way carragher would get into the first team was if rio or terry get injured because he is better than campbell
