not even Chelsea would pay that much for a backup fullback...
probably means Bosingwa wants to move elsewhere ..

The rule forcing LFC to play English players isn't there - therefore nearly breaking the record for a full back is monumentally stupid.

I don't even think he is very good - I'm surprised Chelsea are interested considering the disaster he was there.

I'd rather we sign a quality attacking player first and worry about a RB later. 

I like Johnson but it's an awful lot of money for a decent player.  As long as we can afford a quality attacking player as well then we should go for Johnson.

If he's any sense he'll come to Liverpool, he'll be first choice and he'll be lifting the PL trophy in his first season :;):

Sky Bet have Glen Johnson 1/10 to join Liverpool and 8/1 to become a Chelsea player by the end of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea? I thought it was all sorted now. Does he even want to sign for us or is he just wiggling for whoever pays him more? Holiday my :censored:.

If that article is to be believed, paying only 5m this summer would be brilliant. I knoe we'd eventually have to pay the rest off, but if we only pay that this summer it should mean we'll still have a decent bit of scratch in the kitty.

Do i read that right ?! we are only paying 5 mil this summer and the rest of the fee minus the 7 mil from crouch will be paid over the course of his contract ? so we have only paid out 5 mil from this years budget ?!?

Thank god for that.

i will be very happy to have him in our team, its 0.5 mil more than Chelsea put up for him.

the bbc were still reporting he was going to Chelsea at 10 am, its now not on their sports news.
