Name the quality players, peewee. Are you talking about the world class players that other clubs might not even want to sell to us, or if the player would even want to go to us, not to mention the wages they would demand? Name em.

You can't just lump all your money on a single player at the detriment to the rest of the squad. What if they get injured, or worse, turn out to be complete liability? Shevshenko and Veron spring to mind. Imagine had we spent that kind of money it took to bring those massive flops in, eh? Benayoun, even though he isn't good enough for us, has scored 2 hat-tricks. How many did the godly Shevshenko score? Benitez just can't win either way. Sure, let's go and spunk 40 million on two players, only for us to get hit with injuries and start playing center-backs up front because we just don't have a squad to cope.

If you look what utd and chelsea have spent then what we have spent the gap between us is about right, it should be a little closer and we are all hoping for more than a little.
At the end of the day what we need is Rafa to be able to do better than the competition with much less funds, and i suppose that is why he has put so much effort in to youth, that just so happend to win the ressie league (because it was youth players), been a while since we last done that, cant be a bad sign.

In this day and age, you need at least two players in every position, so how's the squad too large? If anything, we're actually short of players, the wide ones to be exact, hence Dirk Diggler as the winger, and Keane playing the cameo role as one. Babel? He ain't one either, and Pennant is .

Yes babel is not a winger he is stop gap , I say this yet Fo Dne says how bad he is yes he is bad he is learning a postion he isn't used to yet i do feel he has done ok all in all.

Rafa hands his list (not saying thats exactly what happends) to Parry then its up to him to first try the number one targets then two, three.
But just to name two, first Daniel Alves, whether FB or wing he would have sorted us out.
Simao, could have played either side and added missing creation from wide possitions.
Who fault is it we didnt sign these two??
And thats just two we`ve heard about.
When it comes to a lack of signing in one possition or another you cant just lump it on to Rafa, when the actual signing of players isnt even his job.
Do you honestly think a meticulous planner like Benitez wants to start the season completely short in one or more possitions?

If there is problems with Parry he should just come out and say it to the fans yes it would give him problems but surely its better then having another really bad year and leaving the club with a tarnished reputation imo.

Thats not even going into the commercial side where he has also been p!ss poor, dont get me on Parry mate.

I always felt Parry had big part in the poor running of this club no biggy there but i have been thinking of late the manner in which he ran club in last 4-5 years is nothing bar of madness no new investment to make money , then the whole saga with the take over i get feeling he was trying to devaule the club on purpose mabye he has been dealing with the yank for longer then we think ?

Maybe he was doing this to wait to see if some one rich wanted to buy the club then contacted his partners they said we will match there first offer so they buy club.

Of course they get it very cheap and buy on credit win/win.

Then make club look nice for the party that wanted to buy in first place (DIC) , Make a nice profit and move on.

But i don't think they know credit problem was going to happen so its all gone tits up.

This is how i feel on Parry how much i hate the bloke , also what i think he up to.

Whats with the excuses? I've never known anything like it at the minute, its insane.

Every question thats raised theres an excuse and a poor one at that.

When a players rubbish it seems to be:

"He needs time"
"He's only 20"
"He didn't cost alot"
"Its player instructions"
"He is good enough, look at the 3 goals he's scored last season and such and such an important goal"
"You're clueless he's a great player, he just can't perform on a football pitch"

When Rafa wastes money on :

"He's not got the money"
"We can't compete"
"He needs time"
"You can't expect this or that"
"Its the owners fault"

When Rafa signs the wrong players and lets the good ones go:

"He's past it"
"He's not good enough"
"He'll be good in 5 years"
"This ones better than the original target and is the new Maradonna"

The ownership situation's awful, lets make no mistake, but its not been awful for five years, why has this team's personel not improved in five years. We're no better off than we were in Houlliers last season, we're still a two man team only its Torres instead of Owen now.

Why do people keep coming out with rubbish excuses?

Reina, Carragher, Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard, Torres and Keane are good enough.

Why don't we have any other players that are?

The fact is, if the rest are, that means the lads I've wrote down aren't as good as you seem to think... OR that means that you over rate the other players.

lol this is a depressing topic but you are right in some sence and are facing the facts.. But we have to accept the present and see what good can come out of it. yes we may finnish again 3rd or 4th go into champions leage last 8, prolly semis in FA cup and 4th road in carling cup but hey thats life now in LFC and will be for the next 10yrs until the ownership and management have the desire and ambition for the club on a high level.

rafa shoulders the blame for the football mate, i doubt very much that he has ever taken tactical advice from parry, i doubt parry told him to play for the draw after only 30 minutes on saturday, i doubt parry tells him to play kuyt on the right, i doubt parry tells him to play people out of position.

now with regards to wanting two players in every position, explain to me why we have more than two in some positions while having only one recognised wide player, surely crouch could have stayed and the money spent on keane could have been spent  on a winger, but the problem is we were focussed on barry (who is not a left winger so this should tell you about how narrow rafa likes to play). when that fell through there was no plan B, just like there was no plan B last year when we never got hienze
