Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think Rafa's way of going about his business is a credit to our club.

He pursues his signings quietly, instead of bleating to the press about targets and trying to unsettle them at whatever club they're at. He refuses to get into bidding wars with other clubs... ultimately it is the player who decides what club they will go to, and if they don't prefer Liverpool to whatever other club comes knocking then they're quite obviously demented. This means we ship in players who are committed to the club, and we don't pay over the odds for them.

Rafa's methods, of both managing the club and conducting transfer business, are gaining him a lot of respect in the footballing world. Take a look at Mourinho's pantomime post-match interviews, and Newcastle's "Pay through the nose and the fans will be happy" transfer policy, and it's not difficult to see why.

I'm happy with the way Rafa goes about his business. He doesn't rush into it like some fools do or go for the easy picks. He is after good players. That is why their clubs try to stop Rafa. I honestly believe we have signed some really amazing talents in the past few years, enough to make Liverpool the best team in europe for a decade or so.

Agger - best young defender in scandinavia, only 21 years old, real good passer of the ball and very smart football brain

Gonzalez - lightening quick winger with flair and a fierce shot, will outplay manchester's ronaldo when available for selection

Sissoko - strong quick player, amazing defensive midfielder with killer instinct and brilliant work ethic

Reina - safe and reliable goalie. kept 10 clean sheets in a row, one of the best in europe

Alonso - best passer of the ball in the world, best brain in world football

Crouch - can't beat him in the air, with good service from the wings a 20+ goal a season striker. dangerous on set pieces and hold up the ball well

then there is Gerrard, Carragher, Kromkamp, Hamann, Riise, Finnan, Sinama, Morientes, Garcia etc ----> plenty of talent

Also take into consideration that Rafa has signed about 10 big talents to nurtue in the reserve team. Martin, Anderson, Hoobs, Idriaz, Carson, Antwi, etc... Should be a fantastic 10 year period for LFC 2005-2015.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.

About Sissoko...he was a striker who notched up 50 goals for the Auxerre reserves or youth team in 2 seasons but was converted into a defensive midfielder at Valencia by Benitez because Sossoko can "run and run almost non-stop" throughout a match. He needs to work on his passing, though.

I bet that's what Rafa told him!

I'd have said something like:

"You are a f*cking W*nk striker, with all the potency of a 'Sugar Puff'. Now get tackling, you waster, 'cos you'll never make it as a forward you plank."

He hasn't scored a goal for about 2 years!!!

If he was a prolific striker, then I'm the Duke of Wellington's niece Mary, or the league in which he played was so sh*t that passing motorists would nip onto the pitch and have a dump while reading the pages of "Sporting Life".

:D  ???  :D

But he's a striker on Pro Evolution Soccer 4!!!!!  :Oo:

Just call me Mary from now on.  :no
