another drab boring game although one point is more than we  could have hoped for, however with a manager who had a clue about subs we could possibly have left will all 3

how convenient... dont' mention about the 3 BEST CHANCES IN THE GAME which fell to CROUCH... and he MISSED in the first half....

i dont understand what crouch's headers have to do with subs in the second half     

errr... geez let me see how i can put this clearly for you to understand... ok here you go... why would you put the blame on rafa's subs for not getting us 3 points and conveniently ignore the misses by crouch one of which is a clear cut sitter INSIDE the penalty box which a striker in the second league would have put away (not all of them are headers you know)... ? I don't know... why oh why?

so the fact that 3 headers were missed meant that we had to do something in the second half, so maybe if he had been bothered to actually use more than one sub and change things round we could have won,

the logic you are trying to use here is baffling, because we missed a few chances then rafa already had a scapegoat and an excuse so he was able to sit back and do nothing, is that really the point you are trying to get across? so again i ask what the missed chances had to do with rafas lack of logic when making changes in the second half, now lets be honest he has never been good when it comes to changes

I think that teams often overestimate Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, ESPECIALLY Liverpool. It is almost as if teams expect that they will likely not win so they play over defensively and then this bites them in the .

In the second half there were so many opportunities (nearing the end of the game) where Liverpool had a chance to bring the ball up from their half and attempt to create and offensive chance. However, all they did was just boot it up the field to what was, more than likely, a Chelsea player. This was so frustrating. Carragher did it, Mascherano did it, many of the players did it. Sometimes we need to learn how to hold the ball and create chances as opposed to playing so safely.

They haven't lost there in 2 years (I think), so they must be doing something right. I'm just stunned that people think we had the divine right to go there today and win.

We were the better team. They were at home. Their side cost twice as what our squad does, and they arguably have much better quality, whereas we our in the middle of a major crisis and still made them look sh*t. Now, tell me, why are people so unhappy at a reasonable result when it could have been much worse. Had we been top of the table and drew, there'd be very few complaints.

Because they just want to insult Rafa at all costs, even when it makes them look foolish.

You don't become a bad manager overnight.

If he can do it once, he can do it again.

I think you should show more respect for someone who has never been anything other than a gentleman toward the fans of this club.

Heres a prediction we will get 4th, win the CL and the FA Cup, Arsenal win the league the mancs win feck all.

Ill settle for that.

I'd have taken 0-0 before the game, and I'm happy enuf to accept it now, tho yes I know, we had chances to win it. Thats how our seasons been aint it, had chances to kill teams but then - unlike today - we let ourselves down and go from winnin to drawin or from drawin to losin. Takin a point off of cheatski was all we cud reasonably expect the way we been playin, to be disappointed with it's actually a bonus in my eyes.

We aint out the woods, I'm sure we all know that, but if this is a springboard to some better form and results then maybe we can get to discussin games in future instead of blamin individuals for not takin full points.

so let me put it across to you AGAIN...

1. a very easy chance was THERE...(babel set it up for Crouch in the penalty box... and I don't understand why you're still ranting about HEADERS when i've already explained to you in my previous post)

2. Crouch BLEW the chance

3. peewee ignores this fact

4. peewee blames us not getting 3 points on rafa's subs

5. maguskwt asks why peewee blames us not getting 3 points on rafa's subs instead of crouch's misses

6. peewee comes up with a convoluted logic to justify/cloak his prejudice or he simply does not understand

rafa could've done better substitions i agree... but we still won't know whether they will get a chance as CLEAR CUT as CROUCH...CROUCH HAD the chance and BLEW IT...end of story

I thought it was a good performance considering how poor we've been lately . We controlled the majority of the match  and made chelsea look poor indeed. Positives are a confidence boosting performance , defence looks solid again (very impressed with skirtle). Midfield played very well despite carrying Gerrard (he was awful). Babel looked a threat and crouch should have scored . Poor old Dirk worked his bollox off again ,was a better performance from him. Absolutely nothing wrong with the managers sub today infact i'd go as far and say it was inspired hey peewee. Gerrard played on the right and Kuyt only went there to cover gerrard when he came inside every now and then . Kuyt and crouch played up top together,and did alright.

Negatives are ,2pts dropped ,should have won this one.

I am made up we come away with a draw we could have won, there are times and places to lose your rag over draws, against the likes of Pompey, Wigan, Brum etc.

But Arsenal, and Man U would accpet a draw there also.

Its a major boost considering the way we have been playing lately.

And we have the best away record in the league and have only lost 3 games they say the table doesnt lie but IMO it does.

Because Everton have been sh!te and won, we have played well and drawn.

Chelsea  looked like a bottom 4 team today and we still could not get a goal.

Crouch got the ball put into him 3 times, each time he still had a lot of work to do to turn that chance into a goal.

I may be wrong but should we not try and get the ball to our strikers more that 3 times in 90 mins.

and i still dont understand the Sub that Rafa made today, he changed his mind 3 times and took 15 mins to make it.!!!! very strange.

And considering we had to play Martin Skrtel because Hyypia got injured on internationals and we had a defender on the bench who was 17 who has only just joined us we where in sh!t street on the defender stakes.
Hyypia, Agger, aurelio, and Arbeloa all injured.

Skrtel has only played against H & W, and Sunderland so he was thrown in at the deep end well in lad.

Had to laugh at Carra when Anelka kicked Martin in the head Carra rubbed his fod and said to the bench nar hes alright 

Poor lad broke his thumb aswell.

Played really well today cant wait to see him and Agger.

The facts speak for themselves, mate. There can be no argument. Four years without a defeat there speaks for itself. It's quiet impressive. No one just goes there and turns them over as easy as you might want to think. Certainly not us in our current shape or form, so to go there and outplay them and be unlucky not to have won says to me that we performed probably as good as any visiting side has there in recent years.
