I'm still not convinced on Dodgers but its stupid to be calling for his head not even one season into the job.
He hasn't set the world alight with his signings, Sturridge has been good value but you can argue that Allen really wasn't needed for 15 million?
Fingers crossed Coutinho becomes a great signing but I have no idea about Joe. As for Borini he should be f**ked off back to Italy as soon as we get an offer, any offer.
I think we should all be reserving judgement until the last few matches of this season are played out, seeing as we have no cup fixtures to look forward to.
The one thing I am frustrated is that there is no one at the club that can sense check what this young and unexperienced manager is doing, not necessarily a DoF but someone that can look over his shoulder and give him some guidance for the short term. I am really, really worried at the calibre of players he has available in his limited network. Being linked to players like Ashley Williams doesn't help either.
The signings we make come the end of the season, will be pivotal on how competitive we are for the next few years. I think a lot of my love and affection for this club will die if he manages to bring in more dross like we have had over the last few years. It's a tough challenge, not being able to pay the wages City or Chelsea can offer and not being able to offer CL footy like Manure or (its looking almost certain) Tottenham. That's why I have always been an advocate of taking risks on players like Coutinho. That's the only way we can compete now, having a world class scouting network that can bring these players in and MORE importantly keep them when the harpies start to circle. Just like the situation we face with Suarez once this season ends.
In terms of playing style, formations and tactics I can't say we have well and truly progressed from last season. The games where we go "missing" needs to stop and Dodgers needs to start sorting this out now. No point thrashing Swansea one week and then losing to the likes of dare I say it, Wigan this weekend? Also he needs to stop the jibber jabber in the media, his idiotic comments at times are downright embarrasing and he needs to take a step back from the "PR" side of his job and knuckle down to the bread and butter of being a hard working manager.
I really hope Brendan makes it with us, we can all sense there is something there but we need to see more of it, now more than ever as the season comes to a close.
