bit like twitter tonight, most saying he will not last ten game and we should have got Rafa back and some are sending emails off to the owners saying the wrong man has got the job.

i feel for him and he has not even started in his job yet.

Shut the f*ck up about Twitter and Rafa.

You are a hypocrite because if Rafa had got the job you would be on here slating him left right and centre and your twitter sources have turned out to be utter ***** the whole time.

"hypocrite" dont think so mate, never wished Rafa was our manager in thefirst place and thats always been my view going back years now.

oh and as for twitter, where was it confirmed that we had our new managwer,? oh thats right by Ben Smith from the bbc on his twitter page before making it to the front page of the bbc website, a full 10 mins before ssn reported it....using ben smiths info.

If you read my posts wrong  it might be that you think i feel for Rafa, no i dont, i feel for our new manager.

Brendan Rodgers has my full support, welcome to LFC and I wish him every possible success. He has a massive job to do to sort out a squad that is part Rafa left overs, part Woy left overs and part Kenny mistakes. Sort that out, get the people we need and get the team and club moving forward will take a man of vision and strength of character who undoubtedly will need our full support.

Now then as someone said, no more Twitter jibberish, let get behind this lad and lets put the past behind us and move forward.

I think it's a smart appointment.  What he did with Swansea was great, and I imagine we will hold more possession than any other club in the prem next year, or at least be up there.  With our more talented player, and hopefully a couple new signings, he could do good things for us.

I'm fully behind Rogers as I was fully behind Benetiz, fully behind Hodgson, and fully behind Kenny.  He's our new manager, so there's no need to bark at him.  If it just so happens that we start playing poorly than we need to get behind him and support him unlike we did with Hodgson.  I don't think that will be an issue tho, I think he's a good manager, and one that could be here for a long time.

Welcome Mr. Rogers.

Whoa.....not sure what to make of this appointment. The management could have gone with Rafa Benitez, Capello...but they decided on getting a fairly in-experienced manager.

The thing about Buck rodgers is that the teams he managed always had such an awful away record..... that he gives me the Woy Hodgson's vibes. So i am mixed about this appointment.

Its obviously not gonna be easy for him.....as he has to deal with "player power" stuff with gerrard, kuyt & carra on board along with dealing with all the nitty gritty coaching stuff. I am not sure how comfortable he is dealing with senior players.

Anyway...hope he does well. Will set my targets low for next season.

Writing him off before he's even started. Nice.

No it's called having concerns and doubts about the appointment. Are people not allowed to show they are unsure about the appointment within people jumping on their back ?!

It's really getting pathetic.

People need to get some realism and understand this is a massive step up for Rodgers and no one knows which way it will go. Expectations need to be tempered a little - I have already read from someone they expect we will be in top 3 next season and maybe title next year ?! I'm not expecting us to get into the CL for at least two seasons .

wise up mate do u really think we are that bad a team?  With a bit more luck last season we would have been challenging , and when you consider the new additions we had , next season we will be up there

We aren't that bad but we are also not that good. It is a massive task to go from 8th to 4th - City spent half a billion to do it whilst Spurs took a decade to do it. The teams in the top 4 are currently strengthening on a big scale - it is going to take time .

Attaching unrealistic expectations on him early on is going to do him no favours

We need to give him a chance.

Irrespective of who the manager is the important thing is we get the players that we need and not have to make do with what we already have.

I'm actually quite excited about this appointment now. If he can get us playing the sort of possession football he had Swansea playing last season, coupled with a few decent signings then we will surely improve.

Must admit Rodgers' management/coaching ability aside, unlike the other front runner for the job (Martinez) who always struck me as a "media junkie" I like the way Rodgers carries himself, there's an air of authority and no nonsense about him.

Wouldn't have been my (or many others) first choice but the fella's here now so as far as I'm concerned he starts with a clean slate and he'll get my support.

Its negativity however way you try and dress it up Benny.

There are no guarantees any manager we brought in would be a success.

You only have to look at Chelsea where Scolari and highly regarded AVB failed then di Matteo who had taken west brom down did a brilliant job.

You keep saying you are willing to give him a chance but you and many others dont appear that you will do that as you are writing him off before he has even had his press conference.
