Brendan Rodgers thread (signs extended contract)

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

It seems increasingly apparent to me that BR is a great coach, but thus far a rather clueless manager. There can be no positives in our current form. Three games in and I suspect we're already out of the title race with a draw and perhaps two defeats whilst the usual suspects will be outta the traps and outta sight in a month. I've not said much so far this season. I'm tryna bite my tongue and give the guy a chance. I ain't hopeful so far.

BR has to take some of the responsibility in not replacing those that left the club this week. At the moment, there are no injuries. What's the team going to be like when there are 3 or 4 injuries? Could be embarrassing. This is going to be a long and painful season for BR. 10th place looks around the position where the team will finish, sadly.  :(

Fk off should he. If he knew we wernt gonna stump up the cash for Dempsey do you think he would have let Carroll go?

I place the blame fully at FSG's feet. Time to get the SOS shouting about this again. Won't be long before fans start calling these lot yanks in the same manner as the last lot! I'm not exaggerating either. :help

How we sort this mess out is simple, we force FSG out of the club. They're not here to restore us a top club in England and Europe, they're here to profiteer from the club and guess what? Without investment there can be no real way of profiteering because we don't have Champions League football and to get that we need investment in better players. It's a catch 22 for FSG and in the mean-time we fans will have to suffer.

Can't agree with that. BR should have had something in line before he started even talking about selling Carroll. As many blamed Carroll and those that signed him for last years demise, I was one that always backed him and I believe BR's decision to move him on was a bad decision. To move him on in the way we did, for the price we did, and having no definate replacement in line is absolute madness.

Won't be long now before all fans start to see this. I hope they sell us.

Yes! He should fk off for dismissing the Carroll the way he did. Could have atleast had somebody coming in to replace Carroll. And who bought Borini? Rodgers? There's another reason for him to fk off.

Good luck with that.

Despite the bad feeling, you won't be getting any major support this season for a campaign against the owners.

Good luck with that.

After sacking Dalglish, nothing would surprise me with the actions of the owners.

FSG supported Kenny last year and they lost a fortune. Kenny did this to the club. Brendan and FSG need to clean up after Kenny and that is not going to be easy and I don`t blame Rogers if he needs 3 years to steady the ship.

If he can do that then maybe in 2015 Liverpool will be able to play at the same level as Benitez Liverpool team. The wrong signings and the 1980s football players Kenny signed will have a significant long term negative effect on the club.

The money that Comolli wasted came from player sales and other forms of revenue coming into the club, FSG have lost nothing except for the £300m they spent on acquiring the club. When an owner brings in a new manager he should back that manager, Rodgers has been brought in and hasn't been backed. He's had his back to the wall throughout this window and has had to minimise costs and that's affected us for this season. We have a wafer thin squad that lacks any serious depth and that's not Kenny's fault is it?
