Rafa knows what to do, which is more than can ever be said of Ged.

Ang on a minute St. - we did win the UEFA Cup under Houllier and knocking Barca out on the way (Reina in goal).

All this Houllier bashing goes a bit too far.

Up to 2002-2003 season he did tremendously well for us. Let's not forget that.

Anyway, enough of the grumpiness.

They were pressed quite a lot by Ath Madrid last night and it did work (so agree with you there!  :p )

We played boring football. Most fans appreciate the trophies Houllier won for us but would had preferred if we had done it with good football.

Under Houllier we were an absolute bore. The FA Cup final against Arsenal was a piece of sh!te. We woke up in the last ten minutes when Owen scored.

Compare and contrast that cup final to the one against the Hammers.

We played boring football against Barcelona when we knocked them out in the UEFA Cup and. We played them in the Champions League and got stuffed again by playing boring football.

Remember Valencia? Yea, they walked over us too at Anfield and at the Mastella. We played boring football. Rafa's Valencia gave us a lesson in how football should be played: pass and move, you know what we used to do in the glory days?

I appreciate everything Houllier did for this club but FFS you have to admit that our style of play was a definition of ''negative''.

A.B You dont have to tell me.

I spent many a game leaving Anfield after a drab 2 nil with a text off me brother asking what was it like - and me replying sh!te.

You dont have to tell me.

What would you have preferred...

A) Winning a treble

or

B) Not winning a treble.

What will it be..A or B A.B?  :p

C) Winning it in style

:D

You said a treble not one trophy alone. :D

I see that you edited out the cheeky :censored: take comment you made on where I live at the moment. I fail to see how that has any connection to my displeasure of boring, negative and very poor football in general.

I guess we'll agree to disagree on this matter.

It is a good way to show Barca's close links to England.

Was Barca not co-founded (in a sort of way) by an Enlglish family?
Cant remember their name

It was Swiss businessman Kans (Hans) Kamper who later adopted the Catalan name Joan Gamper, who is recognised as the true founder of FC Barcelona on 29th Nov 1899.

On Christmas Eve 1899, 11 men went out on a race track in  Bonanova to play FC Catala. The majority of Barca's players were foreigners, notably Englishmen. The Anglo-Saxon players included goalkeeper Brown (the clubs first president), William Wuld and 2 brothers Arthur and Ernest Witty (the Witty's are probably the family you were thinking of).

The Witty family had emigrated to Barcelona in the middle of the 19th century. Arthur and Ernest were born in Barcelona, but were educated at English public school Merchant Taylor's.

Arthur Witty also lays claims to Barca's clubs colours coming from his old school colours.
