BARCELONA 1-2 LIVERPOOL - ALL REACTION HERE......

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The last time you played us at anfield was the first group game, hardly the same riding on it as there will be on this tie. I dont know why yous would rather have us instead of the mancs and arsenal because we are the best team out of all the english clubs in europe and ave seen more atmosphere on the moon than at the emirates, old trafford and stamford bridge.

The sooner Barcelona fans realise that liverpool arent no :censored: team who you will easy beat the easier your wound will heal when you find yourself out of the competition. I have respect for barcelona and they do own one of the best players in the world in Ronaldinho so i think its time you showed Liverpool fc and their fans respect as we also have class players ones that are english and from Liverpool who have the passion for the club as thats where they were brought up

Man Utd are currently a better team than you, and Arsenal have started to play their best football in Europe. So i see them as more dangerous than yourselves.

Like i said before, the atmosphere is not the defining factor in winning a game of football. If it were Chelsea wouldn't be without a defeat at the Bridge in 2 years or so.

I have given Liverpool FC and it's fans all the respect they deserve in the short time i've been posting here. But i do have my own opinion thanks.

I have never once said we only need to turn up to win, and i've not slagged off your players either.

What i have said is, that i class you as the easiest draw we could have got. That is totally different to calling you an easy draw, or even a bye into the next round. And also that the atmosphere at Anfield (which i've not slagged off either) won't IMO effect the Barca players.

Yer but what you dont seem to understand is that the atmosphere at anfield is like no other, especially on european nights against the elite teams. It gives our players that extra push which can be defining, just ask chavski. Believe me it can make all the difference, istanbul at half time, olympiakos, chavski in the semi of the fa cup and Cl, the list goes on and you cant say that the fans didnt play a major part in us coming through all them games as winners.

Manu might be better at the moment but in feb it could be alot different, we've had a slow start but were starting to kick into gear now. arsenal just about scraped through their group much like yourselves so how you can say they are playing their best football in europe is beyond me. Currently we play the best in europe out of all the english clubs.

Anyway, you can give it all the "we wanted liverpool" as much as you want coz thats just the way we like it, being the underdogs puts the pressure on barce and with the crowd behind us at anfield it might just make goofy and co crack.

Anfield is not like Stamford Bridge, it's not a library on European Nights.

You say that it won't affect the game. Ok, say what you want. Juve's players thought the same before they played us.

Mateja Kezman ran his mouth about how the atmosphere is nothing at Anfield before we played Chelsea in Europe two seasons ago.

Ask them again about the atmosphere and see if they've experienced anything like it.

Aside from that, I sense a lot of ignorance and disrespect [btw this is not aimed at you specifically Murph] from Barca towards Liverpool.

But that's fine, we prefer it that way.

Better in the league based on league standings? Yes

Better than us in Europe? No. They haven't gotten past the first hurdle of the knockout stages since 2001.

But you're entitled to your opinion.

It is your opinion that Anfield's atmosphere is like no other, it is however not a fact. You say it will make a difference, i say it won't. Hardly worth debating any further than that is it?

So you're saying i should base my opinion on who will be a better draw by who might be playing better come Feb?

Arsenal had a fantastic season in the CL last year, and won their group this year too. I think it's fair to say Arsenal play better in Europe than in the Prem these days.

And Chelsea have been the best English team in Europe so far this season. They topped what everyone considered the group of death. Beating the current European Champions in the process.

That is all true, but i just think they're playing better football than you right now.

Like it has been said, come Feb that might all be different. But thats just if's and maybe's.

And? Did they win it in the end? No they didn't. That was the first time they ever reached a European Cup final.

They won their group so did we and a lot more convincingly.

I don't think we'll 'smash' you at all. But i'm confident in my team winning the tie.

I'll give you all a promise now, if you beat us i'll be back here to congratulate you.
