Ireland vs france - Cruch time

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

Not many Irish in here, I know, but this is the big one. The World Cup needs us there, so let's batter the f*ckers in Croker! It's gonna be a good one. I'm off to get rubbered!

Edit - f*ckin hell, I meant it's "crunch" time, not 'cruch'. I swear, I'm not drunk...yet. I blame that one on my w"nky keyboard.

Gutted after that, gutted.

We looked dangerous but to be fair they controlled the game and looked like they had another gear.

Lucky, lucky goal though.

We're not out of it yet, the French are certainly not invincible these days, but it will be a mammoth effort to beat them on their own patch.

PS - Baz, of course you're Irish

Pain in the balls that, last night.

First half, I thought Ireland played pretty well, but fell asleep too many times in the second.

Still, France needed a lucky deflection to get the goal. It would have been nice to go there with a level playing field.

Ireland played far, far too defensively. Robbie Keane was left totally alone in the French half at times. Plus no Stephen Hunt on 'til too late and taking off Kevin Doyle? WTF was that for?

It was as if Benitez was managing the team last night.. :p

(runs away...)

:)

I'm sorry for Ireland.

The FIFA will be happy I guess. Since it's not hard enough for a smaller country to be second of their qualification group, they fix these draws and they have to face France. Who on a good day can beat even the European champions. Not fair.

Spot on, Sabre. F*ckin spot on! The c*nts did the same with the joke of a CL league draw and now they do it with this. It was a cert we'd get a big country. We deserve to be there after the group we got through. Still not over, but I can't see where we are gonna get a goal from. 0-0 would have been a great result. But Osama Bin Laden popped up with a Man United style finish. F*ckin Bollox! Good job I was in a bar.

The French do face a tall order in the second leg but i have a sneaking feeling that they could sneak a result, if things all go their way. They scored away in Italy so should definitely be able to get a goal in France but the problem could be that they will need two to go through. I agree with this World Cup football blog that the game could be a draw, but part of me would love to see the Irish do over the French and make it to South Africa.

Mate, Dunner is gonna pull a couple of thunderous headers from 10 yards out, out of the hat on Wednesday. Andrews will kick seven shades of shyte out of that little cheeky scumbag Diarra for his - ahem! - "alleged" comments...(Side note to Andrews: Kick the bollix out of him  :buttrock )
O'Shea to do us a favour, and poleaxe Evra....just for the craic !

Gerrrriiinnnnnn there the Boys in Green  :buttrock

Saturday was the first home game I've missed in years and I was gutted. So here's hoping they make up for it...
